Puppets, part 2

My daughter loved the mermaid puppets I made for her last week after seeing them on the Cricut Circle Blog. I even found her in the empty bathtub the other day allowing them to swim around. I am so happy she is enjoying the creative fun of these puppets.  She has been asking for more so I have been working on more slowly. I am now up to a total of 8 puppets for her, including the mermaids.

The first two I added were a prince and princess. I am so happy that I made her dress out of patterned paper (K & Company Super paper Pad) because I did not need to add anything to her to make the dress stand out. Next came fairies: my daughter loves loves fairies. Last spring her birthday party was a fairy tea party and I created about 30 fairies basically just like these for the invites. I had to add some sparkle to them using bling and Crayola Glitter Glue pens.
My favorite new puppets are the knight in shining armor, made using silver card stock and a black marker on the contours, and the fun dragon. I do not think you can see it, but I embossed the dragons back layer to add a little more. I also used sandpaper on the top layer of the dragon to reveal a little of the white core in the card stock. These two were also the easier to make. ALL cuts are from Paper Doll Dress Up and were cut at 5 1/2.

I still want to make her a puppet theatre and I have the board all set. I hopefully will get to that soon. I also have been asked for: a king, queen, princess friend and a unicorn so more puppets are in the works.

  3. These are awesome! I have made dozens of the Paper Dolls for my kids and a batch for our preschool and I laminate them so they can handle the play they see! I never thought of putting them on sticks! They are really cute! TFS!
