Once Upon A Mattress Card

One of my coworkers has a daughter in middle school and she is always trying hard to take part in things. Last year when she did not make the play she made sure there was a spot for her backstage and she had a blast. I made her this Hello Kitty cheerleader to encourage her to keep trying out for things and later last year she got a solo in the choir show. This year the tryouts for the musical, Once Upon A Mattress (a princess and the pea retelling) came up  super fast and once again she tried out. This time she got a part in the cast and she is overjoyed. I had to make her a card to say congratulations on this fun news.

I used the bed from Sugar and Spice to create my tall bed. I used my Gypsy to make it taller and thinner. I cut it in white and colored the bedposts with a gold marker. After putting on the first layer of bedding using the matching layer cut, I cut a bunch of mattresses (by hand) using different patterned papers all from My Mind's Eye Laundry Line paper stack.
I cut the gold "congrats" using the Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art cartridge. After I put it all together I knew it needed one more thing...a pea! I hope the new actress likes the card as much as I do!
This is my entry for the Patches of Pink Link up party as well!
