LOVE card

Over at the Cricut Circle Blog they are celebrating 1 year!! I have enjoyed being a Circle member and getting to know the others in the Circle as well. The blog always has some great ideas and many wonderful challenges to be part of.  This week to celebrate the blog's 1 year anniversary they are having all sorts of fun challenges. The Tuesday challenge is the Monochromatic Color Challenge. You need to create a project that is all different shades of the same color and has at least 2 Cricut cuts on it.
For my project I created 2 simple LOVE cards to add to the pile of cards I am sending to Operation Write Home. I went with pink/red as my color scheme.
The first thing I did was to use some pink ink and stamp the "xoxo" design on the front of the card.

Next, I cut the backing scallop design and letter squares using the Close to My Heart Art Philosophy. I used my Gypsy to make them the right size for my cards and to add in the Printing 101 letters for each block. I also trimmed off the side edges of the scallop to match with the edge of the card.

After I had cut my letters I embossed them with my Cuttlebug and glued them on firm. I really wanted a simple card so I left the inside blank for someone to put their own message in. Just a nice card  to tell someone back home you are missing them and love them. Oh and look what I got done this morning with the left over pieces of squares and letters...

Congrats to the Cricut Circle Blog on 1 year.  Hopefully I can get a few more projects made this week for these challenges. Don't forget to join me Saturday & Sunday for the What's New Blog Hop.
