3 Day Weekend Challenge: Happiness Box

Welcome to the
 3 Day Weekend CHALLENGE!!
Three day weekends are always a great joy in the middle of the hectic school year. I know we just got back from winter break, but after being sick and getting midterms ready for my students I am all set to unwind and get in some much needed crafting time (and go see Beauty and the Beast 3D with my little princess). I have issued a challenge to myself for the weekend:
Post at least 2 projects
each of the 3 days I am off work.
It is just a fun little challenge for myself, BUT I have some blog candy sitting around and thought if you wanted to play along it would be fun.

YOUR CHALLENGE: Create 3 projects this weekend (3 cards, 3 layouts 3 whatever). Leave me a message with a link to your projects (or send an email with pics) and all those who meet the challenge will be entered to win the Cricut Classic Font Cartridge. This carts comes with the colored Expressions and I have 2 of them and do not need the second cart. It is not in plastic, but it is brand new and never been used.  *(You do not need to create one each day you can create all one day or whatever and you could have started last night!) Hope you will play along. All posts must be in by midnight Monday (CST).

NOW...my first project of the weekend.
Did you catch last week's stamp release from Pink By Design? There were 8 sets of new stamps released and they are all wonderful, but during the UStream they made these great little boxes using 6x6 paper.  I finally got around to making my own this morning.

You need a sheet of 6x6 cardstock and you score each side of it at 2 inches. Next you cut into the middle of 2 of the sides.
After you have scored and cut you put the box together with adhesive and can add your own embellishments or stamps to the outside.
I decided to add a simple sentiment stamp (I used one from My Creative Time's Turn the Frown Upside Down set) and some Prima flowers with brads. For that I used one of my new favorite tools: We R Memory Keepers Brad setter and piercing tool. This tool makes using brads so much better..no pinching your fingers opening those brads.
I also used some of the extra paper to add little handles to the top of the boxes. I am going to put some yummy treats in these and give them to my secretaries at work, who have been very helpful this past week with midterms!

Hope you have fun creating this weekend and I hope you take part in my challenge!! Catch you later with my second post of the day!.
