Elf Visit & An Artist's Gift

Over the weekend, our family Elf on the Shelf, Conner, decided that he wanted a birds-eye view of my scrap room. I came in on Saturday morning to find him hanging around and a note that told me he was curious about what my tools all do.  I took this as a sign that I had totally been neglecting my space so I quickly got to work creating a gift bag for my cousin, an artist and writer.

I love when people use patterned papers for their solid color features on work so I decided to do just that when selecting the paint colors for my artist palette, off the Locker Talk cartridge. Most of this paper is from my leftover pieces, but I am positive some of it is from the DCWV Old World Stack...especially the red piece.

I used my favorite Gypsy feature, the hide/contour button and got rid of the lines I did not need and made several copies in order to have each paint spot be a different color. I love how you can line up all your papers on your mat before cutting and still can not believe it took me so long to figure that out. I inked around the edges as well.
Next, came the fun title for the bag. I knew I wanted it to be fun so I starting at Locker Talk and moving backwards I selected a bunch of fonts to create the different letter.  I included a list below. I love the way it all looks when put together. A little embossing on my paintbrush and a lot of glue later, I was all done with a fun gift bag and my craft space was feeling well loved.
Hope everyone has started the week off well. I am actually super busy working a a project for my parents.  I  hope to share some of it with you soon. I am sure many people are busy with holiday crafting.  Enjoy you day!
