DAD Layout!

Dad's are a wonderful thing aren't they? I love mine enough to make him Chocolate Cake on his birthday almost every year. The recipe is my grandmother's (his mom) and while the cake is almost always perfect, the icing rarely is...I can not seem to find the correct recipe. He us always happy with it though.
For this simple layout featuring his last birthday I cut out giant letters across the top of my page and layered the page on top of another pattern. the letters are from Martha Stewart Season Cake.
I backed some photos in the same paper (DCWV Citrus stack) and cut out the simple "Happy Birthday" from Gypsy Wanderings. I also decided to try something new. On the back of the layout I wrote a little journal entry. Sometimes I do not want to add a journal spot on my layout, but I want to share a story.
I figured putting these on the back would work best.  Even if it is hidden, I will make sure my daughter knows they are there and can look for them down the road if needed. Thanks much for stopping by today and have a wonderful week.

Follow on Bloglovin
Many of you have heard that come July 1st Blogger will no longer have Google Reader.  After looking at a few options, I have selected Bloglovin' as a replacement.  You can sign up for an account, transfer all the blogs you now follow on Blogger to your new account in just a few short steps. The preview window is great but my favorite feature is the fact that you can organize the blogs you follow by categories making it much easier to manage your blogs. You can click on the button to get started and follow me as well.  Thanks much!
