No Cricut Thursday: Accordion Albums

Did you ever get though an entire project and not realize until your were done that you did it without your fancy and wonderful cutting machines? That is how it was with the albums I made for the cast of this year's school play, Cooking Can Be Murder.
These fun accordion albums were easy to make and turned out to be the perfect gift for the actors. I started with some chipboard, a stack of solid 12x12 cardstock and the DCWV Midnight Chic stack.
All supplies for making the album base:
- 2 pieces of 4 1/4 by 4 1/4 chipboard
- 1 piece of 12 x 12 cardstock
- 2 pieces of decorative paper (I used the DCWV papers cut to 6x6
- about 24 inches of ribbon
- adhesive
The first step for me was to cover the chipboard squares. This is just like wrapping a present. I used extra adhesive on each section to make sure it stayed strong. Next things you need to due is cut and fold your paper.
Using 1 sheet of 12 x 12 card stock cut it into 3 equal strips - 4 x 12. Score every 3 inches on the long side and fold accordion style back and forth. On one square cut off the last 3 inch section to use as your cover. Paste the ends of the 3 strips together making sure the fold stays correct. You attach the ribbon onto the chipboard on the inside before adhering the accordion fold over it. The books tie together over the top.

You can put up to 10 3x3 photos into these mini albums. I added only the photos and on the back of each a copy of the t-shirt design for the show. I made 28 of these and each one was greeted with love and great memories of our wonderful show this year.
