Counting Down to Disney

Our family is a little Disney crazy! My husband fell in love after our first trip with our daughter and now...well lets just say we need a Disney countdown that can be used more than once.
Current count to our  next trip!
I decided that I would make us a countdown that could start as early as 999 days (but I have a feeling we will never need to use that many) away from a trip.  I selected a simple tag cut cut in my Silhouette Store and colored them with papers from Mel Stampz. She has tons of free paper and overlay files you can use on your projects. I recolored mine just a little to get this red.
I used the Walt Disney Script font to add the numbers to each tag. I printed out 3 sets of digits as well as 2 additional tags with some special additions. After I print and cut my numbers I used my YourStory to laminate them. I trimmed the edges and used a small punch to get the numbers ready to put on rings.
Meanwhile, I created a base for the countdown. I cut down a piece of chipboard to 8 x 8 inches and covered it with a piece of basic black paper. I added the great washi tape from trendy Tape to create some lines for my words and then cut out the words.  I bought a 9 inch metal easel to display it on.  Now we just have to wait until we are this close to our trip...

  1. This is so adorable. Would you mind if I steal..err..borrow this idea and make it for my next door neighbors? They go to Disney every year.

  2. Such a great ideal and would work for any vacation, but I also am a Disney Nut, I even have Mickey tattoo on my shoulder from one of our trips to Florida. It has been over two years since our last visit and I really miss it. Thanks for stopping by my blog and letting me know about the challenge. Have a great weekend.
