Breakfast on Safari with Mickey and Donald

I got started working on our Disney holiday album this past weekend! I decided long before the trip that I was going to do this album using the Project Life style. I found this fantastic red and while polka dot album by Becky Higgins and just knew it would work.  I have been planning pages and getting photos printed so I could created my first pages.  Here is my first set -
These photos are form our amazing breakfast at Tusker House in Disney's Animal Kingdom. I have to say it was my favorite breakfast of our entire trip and a delightful character meet & greet situation. I was not sure where to start these pages until I paid closer attention to the folder our photos came in.
This fun folder was full of fun prints and designs that I just had to use. I used some solid color cards and added on all the fun designs from the folder. I also added some embossing to some of my cards as well.
For the title cards I used my Silhouette to cut out some basic letters and with the frame add-ons it got just the look I wanted.
I decided not to add any other stickers or designs on my photos but did a little journaling to finish it off. Here is a closer look at the second page.
One set of pages completed to tell the story of our amazing Disney trip at Christmas.

Thanks for visiting today. Hopefully I will have more Disney pages to share with you next week.

I am linking these pages up to the Stuck On U Sketches Project Life challenge - add embossing to your pages.  I loved the inspiration for my Tusker House spread.  So excited to have found a Project Life style challenge to be part of this year.

Winter Fun With Die Cuttin' Divas

BURRR!!!! Is it cold enough for you? All this winter weather made the Die Cuttin' Divas think about the fun winter activities you can do during the cold season. So this wee the challenge is Winter Fun & Activities. For me the best winter activity is what happens after you are out in the cold...HOT CHOCOLATE!!
Nothing says winter like a warm glass of cocoa. For this card I decided to play around with some of the wonderful print and cut images I have from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.  I started out by selecting my images...okay several as I have a few projects in mind right now.
Once I had everything printed and cut I started piecing my project together. I added an embossed background and decided to try using some of my Project Life cards on my card.
You get about 10 of each card so there are always leftover and I have plenty of core sets to play with. I think it looks great and on the inside I added a fun stamp to coordinate with the front cards.
You just never know what you can do with PL. The final touches for my card were a simple bow and of course some Stickles to make that heart sparkle a little bit.  Winter warm up ready!
I hope you will stop by Die Cuttin' Divas and join in our Winter Activities challenge this week.

Supplies I Used:
- Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons - Hot Cocoa files
- Project Life - Maggie Holmes Edition cards
- Tim Holtz Swirls embossing folder
- Frosted Lace Stickles
- Pink By Design - Feb 2013 SOTM

Mix & Match with Fantabulous Cricut

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge with FCCB! This week we are mixing things up - using patterns.

Challenge #195 Mix and Match
Use 3 different patterns of paper

For my card I decided to create my paper patterns using 3 different washi-tapes from the same collection.
I choose three tapes that I liked and placed them onto a white card stock backing before trimming them and adding them to my card base. I decided to make a simple "hello" card and went searching for a cut to use. I selected this cute puppy from Boys Will Be Boys
After getting him all cut out (he is such a simple puppy to put together by the way). I embossed his circle back layer and inked around the edge before placing him onto my card.
An extra strip of the tape/paper combo on the inside, a fun little "hi" stamp and some hand polkadots completed my card. Thanks so much for visiting today. I hope you will take part in our fun challenge this week at Fantabulous Cricut.

Penguin Parade

Today it is time for  penguin parade with Die Cuttin' Divas. Our challenge this week is t use a penguin and all of the DT members have created a fun project with a sweet or silly penguin on it for you to get inspired!
For my project I went looking for a cute penguin I could put on a card for my sister - who loves penguins of all kinds. I found this one in a set from Miss Kate Cuttables. This cutie pie actually had very few pieces to work with and went together super fast.
Once he was all set I decided to do a little heat embossing on his snowy patch. It is getting easier and easier to do this and I am loving the looks I can get.
I wanted a fun base for the card so I used a fun punch on the edge and added some embossing and washi tape to match his little scarf.  All set and quite happy with this cute penguin card.
Thanks for visiting today.  I hope you will join in the fun at Die Cuttin' Divas this week.

Something Blue

When my cousin got married in September, I was asked to be her something blue. I wore a blue dress and we made a fun blue panel to place inside her dress that included her wedding date on it. I also created a fun basket of blue goodies for her including this simple and fun cup for her to use on her wedding day.

I used some wonderful vinyl and cut out my images to place onto the cup. That was all that was needed to create a fun extra gift for my wonderful cousin who made a beautiful bride.

Thanks for stopping in today.  This is my last leftover project from 2013! I am so happy I found the photos to share with you and look forward all the fun projects I am working on already in 2014.

Out with the Old, In With the New

Today at Die Cuttin' Divas we have a fun new challenge for you - Out with the Old, In with the New. The idea behind this challenge is to use any new crafting goodies you got over the holidays (or in the last few months) combined with some of your older goodies or tools that may not be getting used as much.
I got this fun washi-tape dispenser from my sister for Christmas.  It came with 20 different tapes, spins and is a great storage item.  For my something old I went to the first Cricut Cartridge I ever got, Stretch Your Imagination.
I selected the cake card and frame cut because the first project I ever made with my Cricut were the invites for my 30th birthday and I used the cake cut on those.
My first Cricut project
After getting the card base cut and the green frame on I added the new washi-tape, a cute sentiment stamp and some Stickles to frost my cake.
I added a little more tape to the inside as well to finish off the card.
Thanks so much for visiting today. I hope you can take part in our fun Out with the Old,In with the New Challenge this week at Die Cuttin' Divas. Make sure to stop by and see what the rest of the team made this week.

- Stretch Your Imagination Cricut Cartridge - Cake card
- Pink By Design - Bracketful stamp set

Winter Fun with Fantabulous Cricut

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge with Fantabulous Cricut!

Challenge #193
Winter Fun
 Create a winter inspired project
For my project this week I thought of things I enjoy about winter and number one on my list was staying warm so I can enjoy it and not just be cold. I went looking for something warm to share with you all and found this cute little guy on the 3 Birds on Parade cartridge.
I got him all cut out and layered and decided to try using the heat embossing tool I bought a few months back and have not really used. It worked out really well.
I used a Watermark pen to color the areas I wanted to emboss, placed and dusted off the powder and used the tool to set it.  Not bad for my first time. I recommend having a paintbrush around to clear of the extra powder.
Once my little guy was all set I created a round card for him and used some embossing to put him in the snow. Plus I wanted him to wobble!!!
I really want to go back to making the inside of my cards look a little nicer so I added a cute snowflake and was all set. Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you will join us at FCCB this week.

Happily Ever After Wedding Signs

Today I have another leftover project of 2013. I can not believe I forgot to share right after I made them. These fun signs and table numbers were for my cousins wedding in September.
She asked me to create some signs to hang on the aisle and use in their photos as well as some matching table numbers. She gave me the paper and the sayings she wanted and let me go.
I started with the Fancy Frames cartridge. I decided that I did not want the fancy edge of the frame to go all the way around so I used some basic shapes and welding to create two new frames.
I cut my numbers using the Gypsy font and wording from Storybook and in the end, the bride was more than satisfied with the results.

Supplies:
- Fancy Frames Cricut Cartridge - frame 2
- George & Basic Shapes Cricut Cartridge - rounded rectangle
- Storybook Cricut Cartridge - lettering and Happily Ever After saying
- Gypsy Font - numbers

Homemade for You

Today I wanted to share this small gift bag I made for my Dad. I found the photos for this during my 2014 organizing spree. I made my Dad cookies for his birthday and slipped half a dozen into the bag as some fun wrapping.
The bag is a file from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons. I cut it as large as I could on a 12x24 mat. Before putting it together I added some velum paper into the window area and the double scallop oval onto the front.
I stamped a simple sentiment form Pink By Design onto a flag and used this fun star clip to attach it. I inked around the edge of the star with a black Sharpie to make it pop a little bit.
The cookies did not last long, but my Dad still has this bag sitting on his desk upstairs...wonder if he is trying to tell me to make more cookies or that he liked hi bag?? Hopefully both!

Supplies
- Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Oval gift bag
- Pink Bu Design - Fresh Goodies stamp set

Crafting Notebook 2014 - Die Cuttin' Divas

Happy Tuesday everyone. It is time for Die Cuttin' Divas challenges to start up once again and as always we will be starting the first Tuesday of the month with a fun sketch challenge.
I needed to recover my crafting notebook for the new year so I decided to use the wonderful sketch to do just that.
I started with the new cover and added the base pieces of the sketch on top of that. I decided scissors best represent all the cutting I do in my crafting and picked these fun ones from the Cricut Wall Decor & More cartridge. I also selected a fun stamp for my sentiment.
Everything came together so great with this fun sketch and with a touch of some bling it was all set. I hope you will join us and create a fun project using our wonderful sketch this week.
See what the rest of the Design Team made and join in at Die Cuttin' Divas.

 Supplies:

Sentiment Challenge & Fantabulous Cricut

Happy Monday. It is sure a cold one here in Illinois. - No School means another day of winter break...AND It's time for the first Fantabulous Cricut Challenge of 2014. It is the start of a New Year and we are going to welcome some new members to our design team with a fun blog crawl (our version of a hop). After you crawl with us, we hope you will join in this week's challenge.

Challenge #192 Use a Sentiment

For my project this week I decided to use a stamp from our wonderful sponsor Scrappy Moms Stamps. I found just what  I was looking for in the Happily Ever After Set.  I wanted to create a "thank you" for one of the wonderful Disney Cast Members who made our recent trip so amazing.
I cut out a 4 inch filigree Tinkerbell and added her on top of a layer card. I selected the right stamp and on she went. To make her really sparkle, I added my own pixie dust using some Stickles. I layered the papers on the inside as well.
Thanks so much for joining us this week as we start a New Year of fun challenges at Fantabulous Cricut. Please join us as we welcome our new members. If you get  lost along the way, the lineup is listed below. Once you've done the crawl, I hope you will make a project using a sentiment and add it to the challenge this week.
