An Underwater Birthday for an Anything Goes Challenge

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge with Fantabulous Cricut!

Challenge #217 Anything Goes

I dove under water for my Anything Goes Project this week...
Who doesn't like a giant octopus celebrating a birthday? I know one birthday boy who loves all things Octonauts so I created a bag to match that theme. I started with an old bag we had and flipped the Happy Birthday over.
I loved the colors on this bag so I created my giant octopus to match the turquoise and made him a fun little hate to show he was celebrating in style.
Next  I cut out the birthday boy's name and gave one of those arms a number 5 to show just how old he was going to be. With the added touch of the goggle eyes I was all set to share a fun party day.

Thanks  so much for visiting today.  I hope you will have some time to create with us this week. It is ANYTHING GOES - so pull out your Cricut (as your project must contain one Cricut cut) and join in the fun.

Back in April my daughter had her dance recital.  I shared the fun cards and gift bag I made for her and the other dancers to match their costumes and now I can share the Project Life page that I completed with those same dance cards added right in.
I actually took the two dancing girls right off the bag I had made for my daughter rather than just throw them away. I love the fun you can have with the Create A Friend cartridge.

Friday Friends

Happy Friday everyone. Today I have a simple card I made for a friend to share with you.
I had a bunch of scraps leftover from the layout I shared yesterday and wanted to use them so I cut out several pieces to layer onto my card. I actually did not cut of the punched hole at the top of the page because I thought it would be a great place for a little ribbon bow.
I added the simple "friends" cut to my card and selected the ribbon to put  through the hole and all was done. A lot less wasted paper and a fun card to send out. Have a wonderful weekend.

Supplies:
- Hello Kitty Font Cricut Cartridge - best friends cut with best taken out

Aunt Jo

My Great Aunt Josephine was 95-years-old when she passed away last weekend. Her laughter will always be my biggest memory and I am glad my daughter got a chance to hear it a few times as well. I was looking through some older photos waiting to go into a scrapbook and came across one from a visit with my aunt and it felt right to create a layout about her.
I selected my papers and a sketch to work with (I find having a sketch for single photo layouts helps me fill the page better). I gathered up some materials and set to remember my great aunt and create a beautiful layout.

I did not follow the sketch 100% but the main idea is from it and I think it is a good interpretation of the sketch. I liked the idea of having hearts on the layout so I added some fun stickers and one die cut heart as well.I also added a single strip of "Choose Happiness" washi as that is what she would have told me to do.
I think my letter writing, Betty Boop loving, photo crazy great- aunt would have loved this they way most people who met her loved her. Thanks for visiting today.

We Believe in Santa (Even in June!)

HO! HO! HO! You can hear him calling from vacation right?  It might just be me as I was scrapping our visit with Jolly Old St. Nick this week.  PLUS - we are  half way to Christmas today!!
When I made the choice to use Project Life (pocket scrapbooking) for my Disney Album I thought I would be doing things a little differently and not using my Cricut as much - but that is not really turning out to be the case as I often find adding a simple die cut to my pages makes them feel like they are just my style.
Some simple circles and this adorable Santa cut were just what I needed to go with the cards and stickers from SNAP! Studios.  Another page in our Disney album all done.

Supplies
- SNAP! Studios - Christmas collection cards and stickers
- Christmas Cheer Cricut Cartridge - Santa and circle
- Project Life Design A pocket page.

Die Cuttin' Divas Ch171: I Vow To Thee My Country

Happy Tuesday everyone. Today at Die Cuttin' Divas we are celebrating the countries we are from. For me that is the United States and with the 4th of July coming up I am all about the fireworks!!
I love fireworks normally, but on the 4th they are even more magical for some reason. I found this cute firework in a Miss Kate Cuttables set and put it together in now time.
I decided to make a fun layer on my card with some stars and found these cute brads in my collection where just right for that extra touch.
Once everything was put together I needed just a touch of sparkle. BANG!!!  What about your country inspires you? Make a project showing the love of your country and join the fun at the Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge this week.

Easter Hunt 2013

As we get closer to one holiday lets look back at another - Easter. Today I am sharing the layout I created for Easter 2013.
For this Project Life style page I selected an all square pocket page. The bright colors of the Project Life- Honey Edition cards were just what I wanted for these photos. A little trimming here and there and everything fit just right.
I added a few simple die cut touches using some solid colored Project Life Cards that coordinate with the Honey edition. I added a title, the year and a little bunny with a few quick cuts.
I also added a few sentiment stickers and when my journaling was complete I was super happy with the Spring vibe of my page.

Hope your week is off to a wonderful start. Thanks for stopping by today.

Mickey Thanks You

The week of Disney themed projects is making  me want to plan another trip so badly, but for now I have to leave the planning to my hubby and other people's trips. My husband, Erik at Destination Orlando.etc is an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner and he gets to help people plan their magical Disney vacations*.
I get to help out by making him fun note cards to send to his clients.  He knows that whenever he asks me to make him more I will be happy to do so. This week I created a set of fun Mickey notes for him to send out. I have gained so much more confidence cutting out characters now that I have the Explore - it just cuts so smooth.
I selected 3 different Mickey Mouse cuts from two different carts and cut all my pieces out. I love that the base cuts have lines to follow for placing the other pieces. My characters went together with no problems.
I selected 3 Project Life cards to add a layer to my cards and stamped a fun sentiment on each one before putting my cards all together.
Each card got an additional red embossed layer as well to pull in all the core colors of Disney to me.
These 3 cards are already addressed and ready to send out to some happy Disney travelers. Thanks so much for stopping by to visit. I would love your thoughts.

Supplies:
- Mickey and Friends Cricut Cartirdge - standing Mickey, eyes up Mickey
- Mickey Font Cricut Cartirdge - Mickey Head only
- Project Life - Aqua Edition

Test Track

When we went to Disney World over Christmas nothing was going to keep me from going on Test Track - that was until I had my appendix out a week before.  Was all hope lost?  NOPE!!  I played it safe and follower docs orders for 10 days, but on day 11 - I buckled in and had a blast.
It was am awesome experience as you can see by my title. I wanted to keep this page pretty simple so I selected my cards once I had found some matching stickers and that was that.
I remembered I had purchased the Project Life Die Cuts made a few little arrows as well to point everyone in the right direction. I also layered a 3x4 card onto a 4x6 card to add more pattern to the mix.
LOVED the ride and if you look closely you can see our purple, sparkly car in the photo above - unique like us.

Supplies:
- Project Life - Sunshine Edition cards
- Project Life die cuts
- SNAP! Studios stickers.

Disney Autographs with a Touch of Pixie Dust

Good day to all. A new Tuesday means a new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas. This week we are making projects that feature
Things with Wings!
My favorite things with wings - fairies!!! My favorite fairy - Tinkerbell!!
I made some autograph books for two different Disney travelers - one who shares my love for Tinkerbell. I thought she would be the perfect touch to spread magic on her trip.
The other Disney lover is into all things princess and love red so I made a special shiny castle book for her as well. One this one I really wanted to add the date of the trip.
Instead of cutting the letters to glue on (to many little pieces on autograph books is not a great idea as they need to travel and get bumped round some)I used the pen feature on my Cricut Explore and wrote them on in a silver pen.

I hope you will join us this week at Die Cuttin' Divas. All things with wings are welcome. Make sure to stop by and see what the rest of the Design Team has created - all very cute.

Supplies:
- Tinkerbell and Friends Cricut Cartridge- Tinkerbell shadow
- Wall Decor and More Cricut Cartridge - castle (stretched into two different sizes)
- Lacy Labels Cricut Cartridge - Backing labels on pink book
- The First few Years Cricut Cartridge - backing labels on red book
