Practically Perfect in Every way

Last weekend was my daughter's dance recital. She has been dancing for 5 years, but this year the improvement we saw in her was amazing. She is back working with a teacher she had before and it has made a huge difference in her technique and style. She performed in 2 numbers. A jazz piece and a musical theater number to the music of Mary Poppins -in which she was Mary Poppins. I made this card for her dance teacher.
I am so happy with the way this card turned out at it combined a few things I have not used often. This card started while I was playing with Heidi Swapp's Color Shine and watercolor papers.  I am still new to using these but this is what I got.
I was pretty happy with it. My work space was pretty messy when I was done - isn't that a sign you did good?? Once I had this piece I knew I wanted to use it for my card. I found a .png image silhouette of Mary Poppins to cut.  The ideas of how to put the image on the colored paper with a quite baffled me until I found some velum paper.
I was able to print my quote onto the paper and layer it all together for a look that reminds me a little of the mist as she arrives and leaves in the movie.
It all layered together nicely once I got the measurements right. I added the ribbon to to top like I see on many invites lately and that was it. I had a card for an amazing dance teacher.
Mary Poppins and Jazz "Circus" costumes
My daughter is thrilled to be starting back at dance class for the summer today and I am thrilled she has this love for dance.  Thanks much for visiting. Please let me know what you think.
