National Chocolate Cake Day

Do you know that tomorrow is National Chocolate Cake Day? That's right a whole day devoted to celebrating one of the most wonderful things on the planet. We could not let this go un-celebrated at Die Cuttin' Divas so this week we want to see your projects featuring chocolate cake or cupcakes(try to resist eating your projects please)!
We tend to enjoy cupcakes (well any sweet really) on random days. For my project I put together this fun pocket page by adding some cute die cuts to the already cute Project Life cards in the Strawberry Edition.
I started with the photos from a fun cupcake tasting we did last winter (when you walk by a cupcake store don't you have to go in and get samples to share?) and added my cuts in a few places.  Of course I had to add a giant cupcake with sparkles to tie it all together.
I am having fun working on my Project Life Pages and finally finishing them off and this week's theme was perfect for this page. Of course now I want to go get more chocolate cake or cupcakes to create a new memory with. Have  sweet week.

Supplies:
- Project Life Strawberry Edition cards
- Create A Friend Cricut Cartridge - cupcake form baker (welded together in places)
- Cherry Limeade Cricut Cartridge (font)

Dancing in the Snow

I hear there has been a little bit of snow on the East Coast this past weekend? Seriously a lot of snow. I hope everyone is safe and warm and getting shoveled out, but I also hope people found some time to have some fun in the snow.  This week the challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2 is to create a project with dancing snowflakes.
I thought my little snow lady looked like she could be dancing under these simple flakes. She is surrounded by a winter play land. I started with an embossed layer of snowflakes before adding her on top.
All this snow makes me want to get just a little here in Illinois - not even close to as much as D.C. got but a little to play in would be great. Hope you have a great week and can join in our dancing snowflake challenge.

Supplies:
- Cuttlebug embossing folder - snowflakes
- Don Juan Cricut Cartridge - snowflakes
- Cricut Decals Cricut Cartridge - snow lady

The Big Cheese Himself

Happy Friday everyone. Hope you are ending your week on a high spot. Today I wanted to share a fun Disney spread I finished up recently. I did not want to overdo this page as the photos speak for themselves, but I had to jazz up my cards a little bit.
I added in some Mickey head die cuts and some fun embellishments to make these cards just a little more fun.

Have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend all!

Supplies:
- SN@P Studios - Say Cheese cards and embellishments
- Mickey Font Cricut cartridge - Mickey heads

Come Share some Hot Chocolate with a Die Cuttin' Diva

It is the cold season and things are a little chilly so why not share some hot cocoa with your friends and family? At Die Cuttin' Divas we want to see you fun hot chocolate projects this week.
I found this mug tag on, of all places, the Summer Celebrations Cricut cartridge??? I thought it would make an excellent hot chocolate mug and my project grew from there. I had to go a few different places to find all my pieces.

Once they were all ready things came together with ease.  I really wanted the spoon and marshmallow sticking out so I just weaved the spoon into the tag design before putting it all together. Just like that I turn the summer mug (still confused by it) into my warm hot chocolate card. Have a wodnerful week and share a cup with friends and your projects with us at Die Cuttin' Divas.

Supplies:
- Summer Celebrations Cricut cartridge - mug tag
- Fast Food Cricut cartridge - spoon
- 3 Birds on Parade Cricut cartridge - marshmallows

Be Happy

This week at Bitten By the Bug 2 we are staying with our winter themes. Our host wanted us to share projects made with penguins. What could be cuter??
I really liked this sentiment when I was looking for inspiration and I think it is pretty true.  You can not be sad when looking at a penguin.  These cute penguins from the Zooballoo cartridge were the perfect touch for my sentiment and fun blue patterns.
I hope you get a chance to join in our fun penguin challenge this week at Bitten By the Bug 2. Stay warm and craft on!!

Supplies:
- Zooballoo Cricut Cartridge - penguins
- Design Studio circles with print and cut font.

No Cricut Thursday - Back for 2016

It has been over a year since my last No Cricut Thursday!!!!  I just love using those die cut machines right?  In all seriousness, I had scaled back on my crafting time to do some other commitment, but now those things have come to an end and I am enjoying more time in my crafting space and have a goal of getting more scrapbooking done this year. So....No Cricut Thursday will return on a regular basis as I share many of the Project Life pages I am putting together and hopefully more projects that use different tools.

Today I want to share 2 layouts I just finished in our Disney album.  Often I do add die cuts to my Pocket pages but for these I just went with stickers and embossing fun.
I need to remember sometimes less is more as I really like both of these fun pages.  Thanks for visiting today and I hope you have a great day. As always I would love to hear your thoughts.
*****One last thought to share with you: If you are planning a Disney trip, Erik at Destination Orlando Etc. A Little Bird Told Me...

This week at Die Cuttin' Divas we are all about birds: flamingos, robins, toucans and more!! It is time to take flight with those fun projects.
I did a search and this cute little bird was calling my name. Once I had selected him I went looking for a fun sentiment to match up with him and this circle card was born. I tried to keep it simple but of course I had to add a little sparkle to finish it all off. I love glitter what can I say??
I am hoping you can find some time to join us in our birdie challenge this week at Die Cuttin' Divas. Please check out the rest of the design team projects and have a wonderful week.

Supplies:
- Sweet Treats Cricut Cartridge - circle card
- Nifty 50's Cricut cartridge - singing bird

Snow Play

Happy Monday everyone. This week at Bitten By the Bug 2 our host Melanie is asking us to be warm and cozy and create projects that feature mittens, hats or scarves, all those things we need to stay warm right now in the cold.
I have a goal to update my scrapbooks this year and get my pages completed. This challenge was perfect for finishing off this page.
I love that I can add die cuts to my Project Life cards and make the final look a great combo page. What starts out as a bunch of photos and some cards from my Project Life (growing to fast) collection turns into something really special when I add the fun die cuts.
Thanks for joining us at Bitten By the Bug 2.  I hope you have a wonderful and warm week.

Brown Paper Packages...

...tied up with string, these are a few of my Favorite Things!!
I love getting presents and I love giving them. Normally I go all out with pretty floral wrapping paper for my Mom because that is so her style, but she loves The Sound of Music so for her birthday gift recently I made this simple tag and did tie her gifts up in brown paper!
This tag was made by attaching the message to the tag and using the print and cut feature on my Explore machine. A simple tag for my wonderful Mom.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend.

Supplies:
- Tie the Knot Cricut Cartridge - snowflake tag
- A Child's Year Cricut cartridge - font for tag

New Year, New Sketch with DCD

Happy New Year from Die Cuttin Divas.
Die Cuttin' Divas is a challenge blog where projects each feature a die cut of some type. Each week we will present our challenge as well as show some examples made by the great design team I get to be a part of. Our first challenge of the year is a sketch challenge.
This fun sketch can be used in all sorts of ways. I wanted something happy so I made this cute flower and placed him on a fun washi-tape background.
I even cut out my 3 small embellishments from the sketch from the patterned washi tape to tie it all together and I think it all gets wrapped up with this fun sentiment.
I am happy with how it all came together and hope you will find some time to join us at Die Cuttin' Divas. At DCD there are also prizes to be won (randomly) every other week just for joining in our fun. I hope you come and play along with us in 2016!

Supplies:
- Sketch by Carson's Creations
- Simply Charmed Cricut Cartridge - flower
- Cuttlebug embossing folder 5x7 polka dots
- DCWV Vintage Collector collection washi tape

SNOW Many Thanks

Welcome to New Year with Bitten By the Bug 2.  This week hopefully you are keeping warm or maybe you are outside building a snowman like we are at Bitten By the Bug 2. This week we want to see your snowman projects.
I decided to have some fun with print and cut this week.  This is a feature many Cricut users waited for and now enjoy all the time. I like it for a variety of reasons the first being that I can use the images from my Imagine cartridges all the time once again.
The other reason I love print and cut  is that you can add type to all sorts of shapes. That is what I did for this card to add my sentiment. Of course there are many things that I just cut without a print feature on them, like this fun edge.
Bitten By the Bug 2 is a Cricut cut challenge. Each week we provide a fun challenge asking you to showcase you cuts from the Cricut collection. I hope you will join us this year and play along with our fun challenges. I really enjoy hearing your thoughts or questions so please leave me a comment if you can.

Supplies:
- Good Old Days Cricut (Imagine) cartridge - Snowman
- Paper Lace 1 Cricut cartridge - font for SNOW many thanks
- MS Seasonal Cake Art Cricut Cartridge - snowflake edge
