Mystery Night - Anything Goes with Die Cuttin' Divas

This week at Die Cuttin' Divas it is ANYTHING GOES. That means you can snap up inspiration from anywhere and make anything with a die cut and join in the fun with us.  I made this fun scrapbook page.
Mystery Night at my daughter's school (when she was in 4th grade) was a blast for her and me.  I got to help the young detectives work out the mystery using all sorts of problem solving and fun science magic. I wanted to make the page in her elementary school album show the fun mystery as well.
I added "Top Secret" to the file folder before cutting out the image and added some papers and a photo of a suspect (that's me!) behind it before adding it to the base of my page with the fun torn paper and footprints walking across.
I wanted my magnifying glass to have a fun effect so I cut the center out of velum and placed it over some of the footprints. This page was a blast to make and I am happy with how it turned out...Here it is with the photos in place.
I hope you get a chance to join in the fun with us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week.  Remember it is ANYTHING GOES as long as your project features a die cut!!  This week our sponsor has a fun prize for the randomly selected winner..
Have a wonderful week all.

Hummingbird Box- Lots of Layers

A new Tuesday brings a new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas.  This week the challenge is to use lots of layers in your project.  Our wonderful sponsor this week is Dreaming Tree and that meant it was time to face a challenge of my own.
When I saw this hummingbird file at Dreaming Tree I really wanted to make it for my daughter, but I was scared of the layers and the gluing and the...all of it actually.  I really wanted to try and in the end it really wasn't so bad at all.
All the pieces cut pretty well. NOTE: Make sure you attach the detail cuts to the main design before cutting.  In Cricut Design Space these show up as a different color layer so you can clearly see how to attach them. I was able to glue the first 2 layers together without much trouble and pop them up on a black background.
The next step was to add the top layers and play around with raising up the different parts of the design - ALL very easy (Highly recommend the video they have on the Dreaming Tree website to help  you put this together.) I also added some pearls and small red gems to my flowers.
I was very pleased and my daughter asked to find a place to hang it up in her room right away. I will use Dreaming Tree files over and over again and highly suggest you check them out this week. I hope you will play along with Die Cuttin' Divas and our layers challenge.  The randomly chosen winner will get a gift card to Dreaming Tree!!

Supplies:
- Dreaming Tree - Paper Sculptures SVG Bundle (Search hummingbird and he pops up)

Orange You Glad it's Sketch Day

Welcome to a new Tuesday Challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas. It is the 1st Tuesday of the month and that means a new sketch is ready to work with.
I have been trying to use more print and cut images and patterns on my projects and this sketch seemed a perfect chance to use some of those die cuts.
I started with a sentiment and went looking for the right images and found these cute oranges.  I thought they needed party hats so I added those in and changed the pattern on them to match my color palette.
Once everything was printed and cut out the card went together very well.

This week for our sketch challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas we have a fun sponsor: a $25 gift from Casual Friday stamps.  I hope you will be able to join us this week.
Supplies:
- Kate's Kitchen Cricut Collection - oranges
- Yummy Cricut Collection - party hats
- Spring Chic Cricut Collection - patterns in hats & papers
