This card started with some left over paper. I make a lot of 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 cards. In order to create a base I often use an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper. I score my paper before I trim it to the size I want and I am left with a smaller folded piece. Now I know how to use those as well.
I used my ATG gun to link the pieces together and than wrapped some washi tape around it to cover my seems. I great card base using the scraps I was leaving behind. This is a great way to make a two tone card as you can use two different colors if you want. (So wondering why I never thought of this before!!)
Once I had my base I created my fun owl. He is from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Lil' Hoot collection. I love how her files cut in my Cameo. If you have never used her files it is super easy.
- Open the svg file in Silhouette Studio
- Click on the file & click on the Modify menu (gray square with blue M).
- Click on Subtract. Arrange your pieces and paper.
- Add cut lines to your pieces using the Cut Style tool (scissors)
Once you separate the file you can place different sections on the mat anywhere you want. |
The final touch was a Pink By Design stamp form a set that Lisa Norris (PPPR) also designed, Chick with Brain. Thanks for visiting today.
