Hummingbird Birthday

Welcome to another Tuesday Challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas.  It is the 5th Tuesday of June so that means. ANYTHING GOES!!!
I have a daughter who is currently obsessed with all things hummingbird so this is what I made for her birthday.
I started with the small little box.  We found these beautiful earrings for her (hummingbirds) so I cut a small little box to place them in. You can see it was quite small. It is from the Elmo's Party Cricut cartridge so the sides have little crayons to use for attaching and the top is Elmo's head, but with a little modification it was perfect.
The hummingbirds were cut form the Pagoda cartridge and I added a little swirl to the wings for the card. She squealed with delight at the card, box & has not removed the earrings since she got them.

Hope you can join us this week at Die Cuttin' Divas - Remember ANYTHING GOES!

Supplies:
- Pagoda Cricut cartridge - hummingbirds
- Cricut Essentials - swirl in wings
- The First Few Years Cricut cartridge - banner pieces
- Elmo's Party Cricut Cartridge - box
- DCWV Sweet Tangerine Stack - all patterned papers.

Magic Surprise

One of the best parts of our visit to Disney World for Christmas was the Christmas Eve surprise we arranged for our daughter. We ordered an In-Room Celebration Holiday package. The room was decked outwith lanterns all around, a path of snowflakes, two large gift boxes from Mickey and more.
For this page  I used cards and stickers from the Sn@p Studios Christmas collection. For the photo above I layered a 3x4 card over my photo and added the title stickers to finish off the look.

Thanks for visiting today.  I am happy to be getting this Disney Album completed this summer.

Supplies:
- Sn@p Studios Christmas 3x4 cards and stickers.

We Need Ketchup!!!

On Wednesday I shared what I was working on in my craft space- mainly a die cut ketchup bottle, but why was I creating that? It was for this scrapbook page from our Disney Christmas album.
Have you ever eaten at Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge at Walt Disney World?? Imagine a country themed place and food, with sassy wait staff making fun of you and talking back. Ask for a refill they bring you a GIANT glass. Ask for straws or napkins and be prepared to have them thrown at you. Ask for Ketchup?
That is all at one table so you have to shout round the room and they need to bring it to you - or you bring it all to them. It is an absolute blast and we highly recommend eating there.
For this spread, I played around with my Project Life cards - cutting them apart and adding them to my photos as needed for my overall look. I also added a few die cuts to the layout to finish it all off. It is the best of both worlds for me.
Thanks for stopping by to see that ketchup bottle in use. I hope you have a great weekend. I will be sharing a few other pages I completed from this Disney Christmas album over the weekend.

What I'm Working on Wednesday- Ketchup???

Happy Wednesday everyone. It is mid week and I am working on several projects right now. One of the things I am working on involves...a bottle of ketchup?????
I know that is a funny thing, but it will all make sense when it comes together for the final page.  the best part of this project is that I am combining Project Life and Cricut cuts. I am even cutting things right out of the cards.
I hope to have it finished by Friday!! Stay tuned.

Wedding Celebration with Die Cuttin' Divas

Happy Tuesday to everyone. It is time for a new challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas. This week we are celebrating love - weddings & anniversaries.
I found this cute happy couple cut and loved how happy they looked. I changed the color of the suit and hair to black before flatting the image to print and cut for my card.
I found this sticker and cut it to wrap around my couple on the bottom.
The final touch was placing some ink onto the printed bouquet in the bride's hand. I used a simple sponge and dabbed on 2 different pinks and swirled them together to get my pink roses.

I hope you will join us in our wedding and anniversary challenge this week at Die Cuttin' Divas. Thanks so much for stopping by my little piece of crafty happiness.

Supplies:
- Summer Celebrations Cricut Cartridge - wedding couple
- DCWV Vacation Clear Stickers - quote

Two New Characters

The summer is allowing me to work on my scrapbooking and try and catch up a little with all my backlog of ideas.  This week I completed these mini-pages for our Disney 2013 album.
We got to meet Sofia the First as well as Wreck-It Ralph and Vaneloppe while we were at Hollywood Studios.  These were new characters that we had never had a chance to visit with before so it was a lot of fun.
Using Project Life for this album has been so much fun and I am trying new things now that I have the Fuse tool.  I was able to add these fun sequins and than seal the top so they would not fall out.
For my Sofia the First cards I added some stickers and my own journaling space to give it my own personal touch.

I will have more Disney Project Life pages to share next week and more scrapbooking layouts are in the works as well.  Hope you enjoy your weekend.

Supplies:
- Project Life Coral Edition - Wreck-it Ralph page
- Project Life Blush Edition - Sofia the First page.

No Matter How Tall You Grow

Good day to all.  I am guessing many crafters have been working hard on Father's day gifts and cards this week. I have been doing that in my little craft corner of the world as well.  Today I want to share the card I made for my Dad.
I was searching for ideas and found this great quote. I knew right away it would be a good one for my dad (who will most likely get a little sappy upon reading this). I have finally gotten the hang of print and cut on my Cricut (that is adding font to images before print and cut).
Once I had the quote I needed my tree.  I turned to this frame from Cindy Loo as it is one of my favorites (created THIS layout with it before.).  The papers came together and the little touch of washi tape finished off the look.
Thanks so much for visiting.  I value your kind words so please leave me a comment if you liked what you saw.

Remember this week at Die Cuttin' Divas the challenges is masculine themed cards, so all those Father's Day creations would be greatly welcomed.

Supplies:
- Cindy Loo Cricut Cartridge - tree frame
- Kate's ABC's Cricut Cartridge - font
- DCWV Vintage Collector Stack - patterned papers
- We R Memory Keepers - washi tapes

Happy Wednesday everyone. Today I am in the midst of several projects with nothing quite finished to share. But here is a sneak peak at something fun for my sister...
What could these cute robots be for? More coming soon.

I am also doing some printing today.  I have a bunch of 3x4 photos I need to print out so I can finish up some Project Life pages in the next few days.

Stay tuned.  I bought 100 sheets of printer paper and 4 ink cartridges - I am going to be busy!!
Have a great day.

For the Men in Your Life - with Die Cuttin' Divas

Welcome everyone to another Tuesday with the Die Cuttin' Divas. This week we want  to see your masculine themed projects (just in time for Father's Day)! I decided to go to the silly side with my husband's card this year.
I saw a shirt that said this and knew it would be a great card for him.  After selecting the right colors to go with my paper selections, I printed the opening saying onto a frame backing piece and went forward from there.
I layered all my pieces and hand crossed out the "farter" before placing my newly cut "father' piece in place.
The final touches were the small ribbon and a little inside decor as well.
I know it is silly, but how fun. I know my hubby will get a kick out of this card. Hope you can join in at Die Cuttin' Divas this week.

Supplies:
- The First Few Years Cricut Cartridge - frame cut
- Makin the Grade Cricut Cartridge - star ribbon
- Holiday Cakes Cricut Cartridge - father (from Happy father's day cut)
- DWCV The Great Vacation Stack - patterned papers

Practically Perfect in Every way

Last weekend was my daughter's dance recital. She has been dancing for 5 years, but this year the improvement we saw in her was amazing. She is back working with a teacher she had before and it has made a huge difference in her technique and style. She performed in 2 numbers. A jazz piece and a musical theater number to the music of Mary Poppins -in which she was Mary Poppins. I made this card for her dance teacher.
I am so happy with the way this card turned out at it combined a few things I have not used often. This card started while I was playing with Heidi Swapp's Color Shine and watercolor papers.  I am still new to using these but this is what I got.
I was pretty happy with it. My work space was pretty messy when I was done - isn't that a sign you did good?? Once I had this piece I knew I wanted to use it for my card. I found a .png image silhouette of Mary Poppins to cut.  The ideas of how to put the image on the colored paper with a quite baffled me until I found some velum paper.
I was able to print my quote onto the paper and layer it all together for a look that reminds me a little of the mist as she arrives and leaves in the movie.
It all layered together nicely once I got the measurements right. I added the ribbon to to top like I see on many invites lately and that was it. I had a card for an amazing dance teacher.
Mary Poppins and Jazz "Circus" costumes
My daughter is thrilled to be starting back at dance class for the summer today and I am thrilled she has this love for dance.  Thanks much for visiting. Please let me know what you think.

Barbi Graduation Girl

Yesterday I got a message from a friend. She had found a cool table decoration and was wondering how she could recreate it.
This was the inspiration piece.  It is from an etsy store (sorry I do not know which one). Now that we can upload images to cut on the Cricut, I was able to recreate this fun silhouette in a matter of minutes.

The first step was finding the Barbi like silhouette (could not find the exact image) and adding it to my uploads - I selected the advanced option and was able to get a very smooth cut line from the image I found.

Next I selected a graduation hat cut from Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art and was able to weld them together with no troubles. Once these are all cut out my friend will create her table toppers.
Super fun and easy.
Have a wonderful weekend all!

Where the Road Takes You

Yesterday I played in my craft room for a little bit.  I worked on a few ideas before taking a break to find some challenges to play with. I found 2 that I thought would work well together:
Here is what I created...
I found this fun road sign paper in my collection of paper and that made the rest of the card come together. Just a little bit of washi tape to tie it all together.
I had many road signs to select from but thought this one matched the quote I found best. A winding road would be the most difficult to travel right?
Of course I had to make it wobble to meet the challenge requirements.  I love a good wobble and it matches the overall theme of the card I think. It was fun to play with a challenge again.
Thanks for visiting. It was a great day back in my craft space and I have a bunch of other projects coming soon.  Have a great day.

Supplies:
- Going Places Cricut Cartridge - road sign
- DCWV The Great Vacation Stack - all patterned papers
- Pink By Design Stamps - sentiment
- Dew Drop Memento Ink in Lady Bug
- Recollections Washi tape

Road Trip Memories

Good day all.  Hope you are reaching mid-week in high spirits. As we begin our summer fun I wanted to share a Project Life spread I completed for some past summer memories. My parents take my daughter on a trip every summer and in these photos they were visiting Delaware, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia.

I used the fun Road Trip theme cards from Project Life to create this simple spread. For the page above I put two 3x4 cards together in my center square before adding my journaling.
For the layout below I added a 3x4 card on top of the 4x6 to complete the look. One of the things I love about pocket scrap-booking is the layering of cards and ideas.
This trip was such a blast for my parents and daughter.  This year, my niece will be joining them on their adventure and both girls are over the moon excited. More fun memories to add to our photo albums.  Have a happy summer day.

Supplies:
- Road Trip theme cards form Project Life by Becky Higgins
- Project Life Pocket Pages Design P (top) and A (bottom)

Fast Turtle Time with Die Cuttin' Divas

Happy Tuesday everyone! This week at Die Cuttin' Divas we are celebrating National Aquarium Month (crazy how everything has a month or day!).  The challenge is to create something with something you would find in the sea or in an aquarium. I selected a turtle...but I took him our of the water.
Isn't he fun?  I was looking or a turtle for a birthday card and this one just was such fun I thought it would be just right.
He went together very easy after I embossed his shell.  Once he was all set I started created the card base and found this Polaroid cut to put him into.  I added the birthday message and my card was complete.
I did pop him up on some glue dots so that he would stick out.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you can join in our Aquarium challenge this week at Die Cuttin' Divas. (We give away a prize to a random winner every other week so come play along!!)

Supplies:
- Animal Antics Cricut Cartridge - turtle
- The First Few Years Cricut Cartridge - Polaroid frame
- Fiskars Make a Wish clear stamps - "Happy Birthday"
- Croc texture embossing folder form The Paper Studio

SUMMER!!!

I am officially on Summer Break.. The last few weeks of school were super busy and kept me away from my craft table. I finished up the school year strong with another hour long slide show for the 8th grade class. They were a great bunch.  For the first time in years I had a photo of myself in the show, offering a little wisdom.
Now that that is all over - I can spend time creating and playing in my craft space. I hope to post almost daily over the summer (at least I plan to try).  Getting back into my space requires some goals...
#1 Find time to create often - trying for daily posts
#2 Craft with my daughter more
#3 Focus on my scrapbooking - traditional and Project Life
#4 Learn to use my new Photo Sleeve Fuse tool from Project Life
#5 Take part in some of the fun challenges offered
