Party Recipes

For my cousin's shower last week my sister and I gave her gifts around the theme: The Perfect Party!!  We got her margarita glasses, chip and dip bowl, fondue set and these cute mini trifle dishes.
I thought she better have some fun recipes to go with these new treats so I made this simple mini recipe book for her. I covered some chipboard and added the word cuts to the front. For the recipes, I printed some of my favorite Pinterest recipes out and adhered them to bright colored paper.
I attached them all to a large metal ring and told her when I find good new recipes I would print one for her and send them over so she could add them.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you will join me on Monday for the Fantabulous Cricut, Red, White & Blue Crawl!

Apron Thank You's

My daughter had a fantastic cooking themed birthday party in May. When it was time for her to do her thank you notes, we wanted something fun to match the theme. I found this great apron card in the Silhouette Store and we had to use it.

I selected several papers from the DCWV My Sunshine stack and cut the cards and layers (neck piece and pocket) in these different patterns. I mixed and matched the patterns when placing the layers onto my cards. I added small embellishments with my I-rock.
For the inside, we printed our thank you message using the Cafe Rojo font we love and I cut the circle around them with my Creative Memories Circle Cutter.
While Sophie signed her name and actually wrote a few extra messages on the insides. I created the small photo strips for the pockets. We had a fun time taking pictures in our make-shift photo booth area and I wanted the kids to she the fun pictures. I used different photos for each kid.
I actually got a few emails from parents after these went out saying "Thank you" for the "Thank you". Pretty fun.

No Cricut Thursday: Thankful 4 You

Welcome to another No Cricut Thursday, days when I try to branch away from my amazing machines and try some different tools and ideas. Today I have a card  I created straight from a Pinterest post.
I started with my Creative Memories 1 inch square punch and some great papers form the DCWV Fresh Floral stack. Next step attack two corners with a corner rounder and cut some  1 1/4 inch backing shapes.
After gluing the small pieces together I laid them out on the card base to make sure they would fit properly. I selected a heart shaped button to go onto one piece and a stamp from Pink By Design's Bracketful set for the front sentiment.
I think it looks pretty good when all is said and done.  Here is the guiding card from Pinterest (Splitcoast stamper link):

Father's Day Project Life

Today I am back with my second Project Life page. We had a very low key Father's Day this year and it was wonderful.
For this page I used cards from the Kraft core set form Becky Higgins Project Life. I added some journaling and fun stickers to a few places. I also cut out "Happy Father's Day"using the MS Seasonal Cake Art Cartridge and placed it on the 4x6 journal card.
My favorite part of this page is the shoe picture. Before I printed the picture I went into Photshop and added the words right onto the image.  I love this idea and am so not sure why I had not thought of trying that before.
Thanks so much for visiting today. I hope you are having a wonderful week so far.

Make a Wish: Birthday Challenge

What do you get when asked to create a birthday themed project with at least 3 embellishments? Well you get a project for the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas.
My cousin made this fantastic doll dress cake for my daughter's 5th birthday. The dress was purple (my daughter's favorite) so I selected a bunch of purple embellishments to add to my layout. Washi tape, ribbon and brads were my main three, but my die cuts made the purple list as well.
I used the Cricut Sweet Treats cartridge to cut the cake stand, make a wish and fun number 5 birthday candle for this simple layout. I added some Yellow and Lavender Stickles as my final touch.

Hope you can join us this week at Die Cuttin' Divas: Challenge: Make a Birthday themed project with 3 embellishments!

Red, White & Blue Challenge with Paper Playtime

Today begins a new challenge over at Paper Playtime
Ch# 13 Red, White and Blue
Begins: Monday, Jun 24
Ends: Sunday, Jul 7
Sponsor: CTMH, Lucy Kelleher

For this card I tried using some new embellishments that I got in my Pink Paislee warehouse box.  I received all sorts of goodies in this box and a lot of the embellishments are meant to be customized using ink and sprays.  I bought myself some Heidi Swapp Color Shine spray and decided to play using this Artisan Ribbon.
Not to bad for my first time.  The spray really covers well and this Sweet Cherry color match some of my red paper pretty well. I put the ribbon on loosely with my ATG gun and then used a strip of this great blue washi tape along the top of it.
I layered this white piece onto a red card base that was just a little narrower than the white. I cut the phrase using the Cricut Phrases cartridge and used a white pen to add some texture to the roof.
I hope you can join us at Paper Playtime for this fun challenge. With the forth of July coming up I bet there will be some fun projects being shared!.

Other fun challenges this card works with: Cut It Up: Red, Whit & Blue Challenge

On BROADWAY Wedding Shower

My cousin is getting married in September and yesterday we threw her a Broadway themed wedding shower brunch. I wanted to share a few projects I made for the big day.  Most of it using print and cut ideas. Starting with the invitations.
I created this image in Photoshop for the front of the invite and on the back all the information appeared under a marquee title. My mom trimmed all the photo paper and we adhered them to black cardstock.
I also made two simple centerpieces for the food tables. To make these I print and cut images of different Broadway playbills, mostly shows my cousin has performed in over the years. I cut out the black tag backs using Accent Essentials and glued them onto sticks back to back. I love the fun polka dot tissue paper I found at Hobby Lobby.
The final creation were tags for the cookies one of her wonderful bridesmaids made as our favors. This time I created another Playbill with a simple Thank you message and glued them to a tag backing before we tied them onto the bags.
We had a wonderful day and the bride was thrilled with out fun theme.  I love how sometimes creating can be as easy as some print and cut magic.

I did not know that my mom read my blog on a regular basis until she asked me when I was going to share the card I made her for Mother's Day on the blog. I made this card on Mother's Day morning because the first attempt got destroyed and I just never posted it. I was told I better get it up and show it off because she loved it.

I cut the "Mother" from the Cricut Cartridge  Mother's Day 2010. I was pleased at how the layers looked for this cut.  I tore a small edge of the "r: and again as I was running late I decided to just cover it up...with this cute flower and heart brad.

On the inside I placed more of this beautiful paper and a simple sentiment from the Pink By Design, Life's a Garden set.
Thanks for visiting today.Hope you are having a wonderful Saturday.

Disney Mini

With my husband's new role as an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner I have new reasons to be crafty Disney style. I made this mini-album/autograph book for one of his clients traveling in a few weeks. I started by covering two pieces of 6 x 6 chipboard with the DCWV Midnight Chic stack polka dots.
After I had the covers ready I cut an additional square using three patterned papers. I added a Mickey head and the word Disney using my Mickey font cartridge. I used Mod Podge on the cover so it would all stick ad be a little shiny.
I cut black and white cardstock for the inside pages. I knew that you would not be able to see signatures on black unless using a white pen so I placed some red and yellow patterned papers onto the black pages before I used my Cinch to bind the book.
I think I finally got the hang of binding with the Cinch. Remember to put the covers on first facing each other in order to hide the seems of your binding wire.

We gave this book to the the family when my husband delivered their tickets. What a fun way to say thanks for working with me. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my mini.

* If you are looking for some help with your next Disney trip please feel free to contact my husband, Erik at or on his Facebook Page Erik at Destination Orlando Etc.Many people do not know that when you work with an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner you pay nothing extra for using this type of agent.  They get paid from Disney and have access to the best  Disney deals available.

No Cricut Thursday: 10-Minute Craft Dash

Hello all and welcome to No Cricut Thursday. I love my machines, but I also love challenging myself to create without them. I recently discovered the 10 Minute Craft Dash at Pretty Pink Posh and I am in love with it. You get a color palette and 10 minutes.
I love the color combo and the inspiration pieces were fantastic. I did some thinking in my head and gathered my supplies before I started the clock. I was staring at my Fiskars edger and that is where my card started.

Only 6 minute 34 seconds this time around!!
I cut and tore the pink layer with the edger and then layered it onto a yellow and white base, covering the seem between the yellow and pink with the ribbon I had. I inked my stamp and did a practice run for the color.  I liked the look of the second stamping not the one right after I inked it.
I had plenty of time to do an inside layer as well. I just repeated the torn edge look.
Thanks for visiting today. I hope you get a chance to try the 10 Minute Craft Dash.

Travel Journal

Good day to all of you.  Recently my daughter went on a fun trip with her grandparents.  I wanted her to have a way to write some of her fun memories down while she was traveling so I made her this simple travel journal. I started by creating some pages for inside the book
After I got all the pages adhered to some backing cardstock  I organized the pages and used my Cinch to put them together.
I decided to use the cute set of stacked suitcases from Miss Kate Cuttables for my main image.  I used Glossy Accents on them for two reasons: 1 I love the look and 2. with the small piece I wanted to make sure they image would travel well.
I also add an airplane from the Going Places cartridge.  The fun font is called Clementine Sketch. This is a look at the inside pages I left blank for her and she used a Smash book glue stick/pen to put things right inside.
Thanks for visiting me today!
