Simple & Sweet Baby Card

Happy Saturday everyone! Today I have a simple, but sweet card I made for my cousin when she had her baby. The nursery was pink and grey so I wanted to stay with that theme for the card. I cut the letters out on my Cameo using a font called Creampuff. For the inside, I added the baby onesie from Wall Decor and More.
I spent most of Spring Break with a sick daughter or sick in bed myself, but the weather has turned warmer and we are all feeling much better so time to enjoy the last weekend before back to school. Have a great day.

No Cricut Thursday: Swedish Days

Welcome to another No Cricut Thursday! You would think that I would be using all of the fun things I have in my sticker, paper and ribbon collections to create for No Cricut Thursday, but when a sale calls your name....
A few weeks ago Joann's had the whole Fact & Fiction collection by Basic Grey 70% off and I couldn't help myself there were so many fun pieces. I bought up some of them to play with.

I loved this 12x12 piece of paper in the Fiction stack and knew it would work great for this layout. I cut a blank Polaroid out to add to it from the DCWV Snapshot Stack
After I got the photos the way I wanted them I used different embellishments from the Basic Grey Collection: fabric button stickers, cardboard letters and some simple die cuts and transparent pieces that came in another package.

I also used the cute stamper I got at Valentine's. This stamper is from American Crafts and has a way to add a date as well as one of 12 cute love sayings.
Super fun to play with this great collection.  Hope you are having a wonderful week and that the spring weather is finding its way to you.

Let's Crab...I mean Grab Lunch!

Hello everyone and Happy Wednesday. I have been getting more and more comfortable with my Cameo and that means exploring new cuts.  I recently discovered Miss Kate Cuttables. Miss Kate's offers some amazing svgs and clip art to use in your projects. She also offers a daily freebie! Here is today's:
Is this crab not the cutest? That is probably why he is called cute crab. When I saw him this morning, I got the idea for this simple card.  It was simple to separate his pieces (use the subtract key in the modify menu of your Silhouette Software) and add cut lines to him. I also added some Glossy Accents to his cheeks.

The flower paper I used is actually the back side of the red I used as my crab's body. It is from the Basic Grey, Fiction stack. I inked around the edge with a Copper Dew Drop before putting in on to my base. The tag was handwritten and fit right into his little claw.
For the inside, I repeated my flower paper and added a handwritten, "I Miss You" to complete the card.
I hope to get some more projects done with Miss Kate Cuttables soon. If you want this cute crab freebie it is only free for the day  so head on over!

Have a Mice Day!

Tuesday is Challenge Day at Die Cuttin' Divas and the task this week is to use embossing and ribbon on your project. I decided to use a lot of ribbon for this note card.
I hope everyone is having a Mice Day! With my hubby's new business as an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner, I wanted to make sure he has plenty of thank you cards in his collection to send to his clients.
I went into my jar of ribbon and selected a few different ones and layered them onto some white card stock before layering it onto a card base. I added the simple embossed circle, cut with the wonderful George and Basic Shapes as well as the fun Mickey head off the Mickey Font cartridge.
The inside includes just one strip of ribbon and the mouse ears once again. I also added this great stamp from K. Andrew Designs. I hope you will head over to Die Cuttin' Divas and see all the fun projects the Design team came up with this week. Quite a good variety!

The Sponsor for the challenge is one of our own Designers: Barb from Bug Bites.

DAD Layout!

Dad's are a wonderful thing aren't they? I love mine enough to make him Chocolate Cake on his birthday almost every year. The recipe is my grandmother's (his mom) and while the cake is almost always perfect, the icing rarely is...I can not seem to find the correct recipe. He us always happy with it though.
For this simple layout featuring his last birthday I cut out giant letters across the top of my page and layered the page on top of another pattern. the letters are from Martha Stewart Season Cake.
I backed some photos in the same paper (DCWV Citrus stack) and cut out the simple "Happy Birthday" from Gypsy Wanderings. I also decided to try something new. On the back of the layout I wrote a little journal entry. Sometimes I do not want to add a journal spot on my layout, but I want to share a story.
I figured putting these on the back would work best.  Even if it is hidden, I will make sure my daughter knows they are there and can look for them down the road if needed. Thanks much for stopping by today and have a wonderful week.

Spiderman! Spiderman! Does whatever...

Happy Sunday everyone. Last week my daughter went to a fun themed birthday party for a boy in her class. Guess what the theme was?
Hard not to from my title, but I had to do it right? I love making gift bags for people and this one was a big hit.
Want to know something else I love? Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons by Lisa Norris. The more comfortable I get using my Cameo, the more I love using her amazing files. This Spiderman is from her set Superhero trio and was so easy to put together. The Cameo cute every piece great.
I added the large web using my Mini-Monsters cartridge (filled the mat with this giant web, cutting off the spider) and the font is from some of the Spiderman movies. It is called Homoarakhn.
For the little tag, I used the spider from Spidey's chest to make a simple tag. Lisa Norris, from Pretty Papers, Pretty Ribbons just moved back to the US and yesterday her Design Team had an amazing blog hop to welcome her home. You can check it out at her blog. She also had a Design Team call and I entered.  No matter what happens I will keep using her files for a long time. Thanks for stopping by!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
Welcome to Thursday everyone. Today is my posting day at Cricut FANatics. I am continuing my quest to bring more masculine themed projects to our readers. This month I created a card using Father's Day (you do not get much more masculine themed than this cart) Everyday Pop-up Cards and Birthday Bash.

I used my Gypsy to weld two of the cans on Father's Day together and then added the layers in smaller sizes. I added the "cheers" off Everyday Pop-Up Cards and used Birthday Bash and a stamp from Pink By Designs Artisan tags on the inside.
Here is a screen shot of my Gypsy: The welded cans were cut at 3.27x5.49 and the smaller layers were cut at 3.03x 5.07
Please make sure to stop over at Cricut FANatics to see more great projects!

Hanging With My Peeps

Happy Die Cuttin' Diva Tuesday! Today we are hopping along with projects that have a bunny on them.
I recently got these fantastic cutting files from Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons and I had the perfect layout idea for them. I started with this great paper from the DCWV Home Spun Stack and used some solid paper to layer my photos. I also added two small embossed lines of stitches to match the stitch pattern on the paper.
Not sure how you feel about them, but I have to have at least one small box of Peeps every Easter season. Don't laugh, but I can't eat them during any other season that they now make them for. ODD??  This cute saying just makes me smile.
My daughter, put on the hat from her basket and surrounded herself with a blanket and new bunny to watch some morning cartoons right after she found her basket. Hope your are having wonderful day and get a chance to play along with the Die Cuttin' Divas.

This fun Easter themed project is also getting link up to the Pink By Design Easter challenge

Bee Happy

It is Monday and it is getting closer and closer to Spring so lets "Bee Happy" and play along with the challenge at Paper Playtime. I am so happy to be a new member of this fun challenge blog's Design Team.
For this card I started with my new favorite DCWV stack: Midnight Chic (black, white and gray patterns). I feel like it is becoming an obsession to use all the papers in this stack. I selected two and trimmed them with a black and white ribbon from my stash.
Next, I had to find the bee I wanted to use. I selected the one off Sentimentals because I love the wings. I used another piece from Midnight Chic as the black layer on top of some gold and added a few stick on gems to the antennae. I also added the "Bee Happy" from the same cartridge.
I repeated my base layer on the inside and left room for a note. Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you will join in this fun challenge. Here are the details.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy Sunday. I just wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a...
Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

We may not be Irish at all, but who doesn't like this spirited day? Green is my favorite color after all!
My daughter saw all sorts of fun ideas for today on Pinterest and sort of hinted that I make her something. This week has been totally crazy and involved three days out of the state, so I did not get to that, but I did make her a simple card to tell her I love her! I figure a rainbow worked for St. Patrick's Day. I decided to play with the Print & Cut function on my Cameo.
This cute Happy Rainbow is from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons. I just love Lisa's designs. Don't forget to add the registration marks before you print..I almost forgot yesterday!
After a little embossing and layering everything onto the card I selected this cute stamp from the Pink By Design Stamp of the Month set, You are My Happy!  I just thought it fit. Hope you have a wonderful day. Collect lots of kisses, Irish or not!

No Cricut Thursday: A Washi Tape Challenge

Hello to you and Happy Thursday. This week for No Cricut Thursday I found a wonderful challenge that totally showcases one of the trends I am loving: washi tape! These decorative tapes look great on all kinds of projects.
My decorative tapes
For this card I started with some of my different tapes and a piece of scrap. It wasn't easy because it sticks but I trimmed the edges like ribbon points.
Next I put together a flower using three different ones from my Recollections canister and a fun gem brad.

I added a stamp from the Pink By Design, Stamp of the Month (Jan 2013) set You Are My Happy and then created an inside look with more washi tape.
This simple and fun card is being added to the Washi Tape Challenge at Moxie Fab World and is being linked up to the Tuesday Link Up with Sarah Hamar Designs!  Happy Crafting!

Green & Gold For You

It is Tuesday which means it is time for another challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas. This week the theme is GREEN and GOLD. I wanted to stay pretty simple for this color combo so I created this card I am sending to a friend.
I started with some great green papers from the DCWV Cotton Bloom Stack. I cut out a border using an eksuccess punch. This punch actually has 2 settings you can use to create a border. I used setting #1.
I layered my pieces and added "for you" cut from the Sweethearts cartridge. When I added the sentiment I made sure the great flower on the paper showed on top. I felt that the card was still too simple for my tastes so I added these great green gems on top and bottom to give it just a final sparkle.
I hope you will come play along with Die Cuttin' Divas this week. The prize sponsor (given out every other week) is Little Scrap Pieces.
Have a great week everyone!
