Baby Girl Sketch Card

November is here and with it a new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas. Each month we work with a great sketch and hope you can join us this week with the new one.
I made this card after finding out my co-worker was going to have a baby girl.  We had our fingers crossed for her. The sketch seemed like a perfect fit for this one.
I started with some fun patterned paper in my large stash and made the die cut  to go on top of that. I wanted the sentiment to a pretty font and this one is actually form a cut in Wrap It up that I just flattened and printed onto the flag.
I really loved this card and so did the mommy to be.  I hope you get a chance t play with this fun sketch this week.  The Divas look forward to seeing what you create.

Anything Goes Unplugged

Happy Tuesday and day before Halloween for those of you that celebrate.  This is a 5th Tuesday of the month and that means the challenge for Die Cuttin' Divas is Anything Goes. I made a large wall display in the hallway at my school for this challenge.
This year I will be directing a play called Unplugged by Laurie Bryant. This show is about getting taking a break from our reliance on technology - especially social media.  I love the cover of the script, but wanted to change it up from headphones and show something that we need to unplug from.
I found a great graphic with the "D" as a plug and I recreated it using basic shapes attached to my very large (7 inch) letters.  I also made a tablet style device to attach to a cord. The cored had to be cut into 5 sections in order to make it.
I was so happy with how it turned out and it is working well - many students have stopped to look at it or come see me with question about the meeting the wall is advertising. I am sure to have many other play related projects in the next coming months.

Thanks for visiting today and I hope you can join us for the Anything Goes Challenge.

Supplies:
- Cricut Font - letters
- Svg ipad

Pizza My Heart

Whose hungry?  I sometimes feel like I am always hungry or thinking about food so that makes this week's challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas perfect for me! This week our theme is FOOD!!
I search for food items in Cricut Design space and this slice made me think of a great card  to make. It was super fun putting the happy slice together and changing some of the pieces out to have harts on the pizza and in the larger word cut.
A little print and cut action to add in the rest of the sentiment for the card and it all went together fast.
I hope you get a snack (I know I need one) and get some time to join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week and our food challenge.

Supplies:
- Simply Charmed Cricut Collection - pizza & slice of pizza
- Create A Critter Cricut Collection - hearts

Trick or Treat Box with Die Cuttin' Divas

Happy Tuesday all. I just got done with a 3 day weekend and of course I really needed a 4 day one to get all the things I wanted to get done..done! One thing I did get to do was create some simple treat boxes for my daughter's dance sisters. This is perfect because the challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas is 3D projects!!
This year the company girls have fun activities to do with/for their sisters each month and for Halloween it is to share a treat. I found a cute pumpkin to use on the box and went searching for some papers before cutting out the box and pumpkin.
I got everything put together, but before attaching the pumpkins to my boxes I decided to make them wobble for fun. Always a fun addition and this pumpkin was made to wobble I think.
I hope you all are having a great start to the week and that you get a chance to join us this week at Die Cuttin' Divas.  3D projects are always great for simple treats and with Halloween around the corner I know I need a few.

Supplies:
- Smiley Cards - Pumpkin
- Sweet Treats - box (minus polka dot add ons)
- Action Wobble

Fight Like a Girl Sketch Card with Die Cuttin' Divas

It is the first Tuesday of October and the first Tuesday always means a new sketch with Die Cuttin' Divas. For this sketch I worked on a card for another October staple, Breast Cancer awareness Month.
I started with the papers and created the base of this great sketch from Carson's Creations.
Once I had all the papers done I cut out my image and stamped my sentiment  onto the right spots to complete the looks. I added my boxer on with an action wobble to make her fight stronger.
To anyone fighting Breast Cancer I wish you well and know lots of people are in your corner.  I hope others can join us at Die Cuttin' Divas for our sketch challenge this week.

Fall Colors with Die Cuttin' Divas

Have the fall colors started to pop out in your area?  We are still waiting around here.  It has been very warm the last few weeks so maybe soon. The Divas are ready for those fall colors and it is our challenge this week - use fall colors.
I found this fun tire swing cut and thought it would look great with some fall colored papers. I really liked the leaves on the backing paper and I really wanted to play with mix and match patterns.
Once I had it all cut out I decided to make the tree pop just a little bit - with all these patterns it needed to stand out more.
It was a fun card to make and it made me get in the mood for fall - apple picking, raking leaves and of course Halloween & Thanksgiving.  I hope you have some fall things to look forward to as well and can join us at Die Cuttin' Divas for this challenge.

Supplies:
- Recollections Night & Fall Paper
- Pop-up Neighborhood Cricut Collection - tire swing tree
- SN@P! Studios sticker

Tic Tac Toe with Die Cuttin' Divas

Happy Tuesday all. I hope your week has started out just right. I also hope you are ready for a new challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas and our fun tic tac toe board.
I went on a diagonal for this one and used - yellow or orange, pattern papers and twine to create a simple card for this challenge.
I had a hard time deciding what  I wanted to make for it so the extra Thinking of You square came in handy. I am not a huge fan of the glitter I put on the dots of the i's but it is still a fun and cute card. Hope you can play along with us this week.

Supplies:
- Recollections Night & Fall paper pad
- Paper Lace Cricut Collection - Thinking of You

Wild About Music

ROAR! HISS! BAA! PEEP! The animals have spoken and they want their own challenge this week, so over at Die Cuttin' Divas we have decided to comply and want to see your projects with a animal on them.  I decided to go WILD!
Wild about Music was the theme for my daughter's 2nd grade concert.  Each student dressed up like an animal and the songs were all animal themed.  I printed out the zoo animals list form Word Collage and that was the starting pint for these 2 pages.
Once I had the base laid out (let's not talk about how long it took me to find the zebra paper I knew I had somewhere!!)  I added the zebra (my daughters choice of outfit for the night!) and some touches of pink. I also created the title using a piece of a cut from Create A Critter 2 and adding in the right words -  love welding things together and layering! This is the cutie (wow 2nd grade seems so long ago)
I hope you can join us in our fun animal challenge with Die Cuttn' Divas. Remember to include a die cut on your project! Have a wonderful week.

Supplies:
- Create A Critter Cricut Colection - zebra
- Create A Critter Cricut Collection - wild about you
- Quarter Note Cricut Collection - treble clef
- Hannah Montana Cricut Collection - notes
- Word Collage Cricut Collection - Zoo Animals
- Haettenschweiler font for Wild and Music before welding

What Makes You Happy?

This week the Die Cuttin' Divas are asking What Makes You Happy?  I decided to go with one of the things that makes me happiest MY FAMILY and because we love being at Disney I combined the two for this project. Just a simple scrapbook page with  some print and cut fun.
I wanted to go very simple so I decided to use print and cut die cuts for my characters and title. First  i had to change the color on Minnie's bow and dress.  I did this by changing the cut to print and filled it with a polka dot pattern.
I added some fun washi tapes to just give it a little more detail and the page was all set.
I hope you get a chance  to join us this week at Die Cuttin' Divas. It is also a good idea to think about the things that make you happy.  I hope you get time to do just that and craft with us this week.

Supplies:
- Mickey Font Cricut Cartridge - Oh My
- Mickey and Friends Cricut Cartidge - Pluto and Minnie
- Project Life Honey Edition 12x12 papers

Back to School with Die Cuttin Divas 2018

Yesterday I started my 19th year teaching middle school students.  I guess that means Back 2 School time is in full bloom.  This week at Die Cuttin' Divas our theme for the week is Back to School.  I  took it back a few years to the first day of 5th grade for my daughter.
I started with the papers and the die I wanted to use. I found this great frame cut and enlarged it to fill my page.
I layered everything over the photos and added a simple statement to label it on the side. Another page in her elementary album completed - only a few...okay a lot more to go.

Have a great week - if that means getting ready for Back 2 School enjoy the send off!  Hope you can join us at Die Cuttin' Divas.

Supplies:
- DCWV Dots, Stripes & Plaids paper stack
- Designer's Calendar Cricut Collection - Back 2 School

Birthday Wishes

It is time for a new challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas. This week the theme for the challenge is Birthdays! We want to see you birthday themed projects with die cuts. Our sponsor for the week is Spellbinders and they were nice enough to send the team some dies to work with for this challenge.
I do not often make such elegant cards, but I am very happy with this one. I was sent these elegant 3D vignettes dies to work with.  I really liked the corner pieces so I decided to work with those, but not on the main corners.
I cut the corner pieces and added them around this stamped sentiment. I used my scoring board to make it easier to fold the corners and I liked that they popped up around the card,
I finished off the inside with an extra corner piece as well.
I am happy with the more elegant style of card and found the spellbinders pretty easy to work with. I  hope you will join us in the birthday challenge here at Die Cuttin' Divas this week. Thanks to our awesome sponsor Spellbinders
Supplies:
- Spellbinders Shapeabilities ELEGANT 3D VIGNETTES
- Fiskars Make a Wish stamps

Hooray Baby Sketch with Die Cuttin' Divas

Happy Tuesday all! At Die Cuttin' Divas we start each month off with a sketch challenge so here we go.
The fun sketch by Georgina is just right for a simple baby card  I needed to make for a co-worker.  They juts announced they were expecting so it is super exciting.
I found this cute svg file at flaticon under free people icons and thought it was super cute. It was easy to transform in Cricut Design space and change the color of the heart. Once all was cut and placed down I needed just this simple sentiment stamp to finish it off.
I have also been trying to put effort into the inside of my cards - just for fun and to use up all the paper I have laying around.
We have a fun new sketch for you and a great sponsor with Waffle Flower (what a cute name for a shop) so come and join us this week.
Supplies
- Couple with heart svg
- Craft Smart Stamp
- Colorbok Beach House paper
- Sketch by Carson's Creations
