2016 Over & Out!! (My favorite projects!)

As we countdown the minutes to the end of 2016 I wanted to say thank you for continuing to visit Cool Beans By L.B.  Like many others I have come across, 2016 was a difficult year. Lots of changes came my way & those changes were hard, but in many ways good for me. I found myself not wanting to be in my craft space as much, BUT when I did get in there the support of my blogging and crafting family have always made me smile!!! Here are my favorite projects of the year.
Disneymoon Autograph book: Made with love for a good friend and her new husband!!
Motown Cards: In honor of my daughter's Spring choir concert.
Hug & Kiss Around the World: A scrapbook page from a special time in Epcot at Walt Disney World.
Hot Chocolate Card: A card made for Die Cuttin' Divas challenge in January.
Beach Visit with Sketch: A Pocket page made using a sketch challenge.
Thank you so much. I am finding my crafting buzz once again and am excited for the new projects. I will continue to work with Die Cuttin' Divas in 2017. I love this amazing group & have fun creating for this challenge each week. I am going to focus on capturing my family memories in 2017 so be on the look for fun scrapbook pages. Also, look for some design changes here at Cool Beans by L.B. early in 2017. With a New Year comes fresh ways of thinking and living.  May you find both this coming year!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Winter Wonderland with Die Cuttin' Divas

Happy Tuesday!  Today marks the last challenge of 2016 with Die Cuttin' Divas. I love working with this challenge blog and am excited to be getting my craft juices flowing again in time to start the new year. BUT....let's finish this year off right with our fun Santa or Reindeer Challenge.
I went right to reindeer for this challenge and when I found this little guy I had to create something for him.
I love how happy he made me (is that silly???) Anyhow, I did some pint and cut work and put together a fun backing with embossing to get my card the way I wanted it.
I have come to really love print and cut features on cards, but also have to remember to keep extra printer ink on hand when making projects (had to change my plans a little for this one due to the ink running out at a critical moment).

Hope you enjoy your week and get time to play along with us at DCD!!

Supplies:
- Snow Angels Cricut Cartridge (Imagine) - reindeer and printed red pattern
- The Good Old Days Cricut Cartridge (Imagine) - Winter Wonderland tag
- Snowflake embossing folder.

A Sketch in Red & Green

This week at Die Cuttin' Divas we are looking back at all the fun sketch challenges we had this year. The first Tuesday of the month is always fun. We are asking that this week you select one of the year's sketches and make a card featuring red and green.  I used the June sketch to make this fun holiday card.
I love this fun tree and thought it would look good with this paper I had in my paper stash.  I selected the June sketch and got to work.

It is so fun to work with the sketches and I liked the added twist of using red and green.
Hope you get a chance to play along with us this week.

Supplies:
- Celebrate With Flourish Cricut Cartridge - tree
- Gold Stickles
- Sketch by Carson's Creations.

A Little Sparkle with Die Cuttin' Divas

I forgot to share my project with you this week for Die Cuttin' Divas - Make it Sparkle challenge.  I had my photo all set up for the challenge but forgot to share it on my own blog!!
I made these autograph books for my daughter and 2 nieces for our Thanksgiving trip. I found an svg file that matched the design used on some T-shirts my mom ordered for the girls.  I wanted these to be simple but had to add some sparkle!!

So sorry I forgot to share.  Still time to play along at DCD.

Sweet Locker Tags

Happy Day  to all. This week the Die Cuttin' Divas are thankful for anything and everything so we are celebrating with an Anything Goes Challenge.  I am sharing these locker tags I made for my sister's 2nd grade class.
I get to make her locker tags every year and love it as my middle schoolers are not totally into locker tags!! For this set of tags I made some sweet treats!
I combined 2 different ice cream treats to make these.  I used sundaes from Summer Celebrations and Sweet Treats to get just the right look for the locker tags. I also embossed the whipped cream to make it extra special.
I hope you have an extra special week and get to have the treat of time with your family.  I also hope you get time to join us and our anything goes challenge!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Die Cuttin' Divas

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so Die Cuttin' Divas wanted to get in on the celebration of all the amazing fighters and survivors.
I found this wonderful saying and knew it would be a perfect card for one survivor I know. I added to this pennant shape and used print and cut to get it just right.  The border was added after printing.

I also print and cut the oval in the back after filling in with a pattern in Cricut Design Space. Now I can salute a hero who just finished her treatment. Hope you can join us this week  at DCD.

Movie Fun with Bitten By the Bug 2

Happy Monday everyone.  It is my week to host the challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2 and I discovered it was National Popcorn Month sand what goes best with popcorn?  Movie Night of course. This week at BBTB2 we want to see your Movie themed projects (movie night or something inspired by your favorite movie!)
I made this card for my shining star. I played around and added her name on the star before printing it and then I cut the rest of the shapes as is.
I was really happy with the way the print and cut matched up the letters to my yellow card base. I cut a bunch of other stars to add to my card.  I wanted the black tile and stars to look how it looks on the Hollywood Walk of fame so I added some sparkle to give that extra touch.
In the end a super fun card. I hope you will get to play along with us at Bitten By the Bug 2. This is my last time hosting a challenge with them as I have decided to only focus on one design team (starting in November) while I am in school once again. It has been so much fun being part of this team.

Supplies:
- Movie Night Cricut Collection - walk of fame star
- Sheer Shimmer Spritz by Tsukineko

Attitude is Everything - A Sketch Challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas

Welcome to October and the first challenge of the month with Die Cuttin' Divas.  We have a great sketch to play with this week.
I decided to flip the sketch on it's side and make a fun card for my dancing daughter. I planned everything I wanted  to do in Cricut Design Space before I used the print and cut feature to create some of the pieces.
For the small circles on the sketch I decided to cut them right into my backing layer rather than add anything on top.
The final touch was the sentiment to remind her to keep working hard this season on her dancing. She is at the studio 5 days a week and it shows in the improvements she is making, but something she needs to be reminded to have fun as well.
I hope you can play along with us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week. Remember to  enjoy the new season around you as well.

Supplies:
- Shall We Dance Cricut Cartridge - dancer (modified the hair)
- K Andrew Designs - Postive Thoughts stamps set
- Black and White polka dots printed pattern in Design Space
- Cuttlebug 5x7 dots embossing folder.

Birthday Celebration with Die Cuttin' Divas

Happy Tuesday! Happy Birthday as well (to all those celebrating in September) which is what we want to celebrate at Die Cuttin' Divas this week.  Show us your birthday projects.
I made this fun birthday card to have on hand for upcoming birthdays (my supply was getting a little low).  In order to get started I decided to just open a new package of paper and use only those colors for my card before I sorted the colors into my stash.
I like how these colors go with each other so well - and the card could be for a man or a women. Once I had my color combo I selected my images and cut them out.  I added a few extra touches with some embossing and a little bow.
The final touch was the sentiment on the inside. I love this fun birthday sentiment. (Who doesn't love treats on their birthday - cake or otherwise).
A happy week to  you all and thank you  so much for visiting my little craft space today! I hope you can join us at Die Cuttin Divas this week.

Supplies:
- Pretty Pennants Cricut Cartridge - Cake pennant
- Sizzix embossing folder - Tim Holtz swirls
