Gotta Be Jazz

This month is Music in Our Schools Month so Die Cuttin' Divas decided to join in the fun.
It just so happens that a few weeks ago was my daughter's concert at school. The title - Gotta Be Jazz. What a perfect way to celebrate music month. The kids were just adorable in the costumes they put together.
For this card I started with a fun flapper (I made 2 cards - one for her music teacher) and pieced her together with the same colors of my daughter's outfit. Once she was all set I placed her on a base - all from the Art Deco Cricut Cartridge.
Once I had the card together I needed to add the title and of course a music note to finish it all off. I used a banner piece from another project and with print and cut on my Silhouette was able to add this piece without problems.
Above is my little flapper during the concert. It was such a great show. Thanks so much for joining me this week and I hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas and our Music In School Challenge.

Supplies:
- Art Deco Cricut Cartridge - flapper, frame
- Hannah Montana Cricut Cartridge - music notes
- Lucky Stitch Card form Silhouette store - banner piece

Family Photo Session

I am so lucky to have 3 beautiful nieces and while I do not get to see them as much as I would like I enjoy each moment with them. When my sister had her second I got to go visit right away, but it was several months before we were all together with my parents - we did not let the beautiful day go unmarked.
Of course it took me a lot longer to print and scrap my photos from that day. When I saw the cards in the Heidi Swapp foil collection for Project Life I knew the wait was worth it. Before printing the photos I added text to each one.
I selected my cards and a few embellishments to add to the layout.

I actually cut one of my 4x6 cards down to size to match the whole look. I love how the colors of the cards match my nieces outfit (one I actually picked out - look close it says something about her awesome aunt!!)

Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy the first weekend of Spring.

Celebrate Spring with Die Cuttin' Divas

It is starting to feel like Spring outside so this week our challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas is to Celebrate Spring.
I have a ton of floral embellishments that I have not used in awhile so I decided to find some papers to go with my orange set and I was able to put this cute card together with various fun supplies.
I really like how my watering can girl looked popped up on the card and the colors all played together well.
I added some more color to the inside as well to finish off my look.  Thanks so much for stopping by today. Hope the weather is looking like Spring to you as well.  Please join us this week at our Celebrate Spring Challenge this week at Die Cuttin; Divas.

St. Patty's Day with Die Cuttin' Divas

Happy Tuesday everyone. This week the Die Cuttin' Divas are getting ready for St. Patrick's Day. We want you to share your St. Patty's Day projects with us for this  week's challenge.  Here is what I created for this week.
I started with the idea of a rainbow.  I went to my washi tapes and created a rainbow with my different tapes.  Once I had my rainbow I made a card base with a little bit of embossing and cut an image out just for the celebration.

Just a simple card to to celebrate and shake your Shamrock's with. I hope you will join us this week at Die Cuttin' Divas.

Supplies:
- A Child's Year Cricut Cartridge - St. patty's hat
- Various washi tapes
- 5x7 Cuttlebug embossing folder - polka dots

Whimsy is Essential Sketch Card

Happy Tuesday all. It is the first Tuesday...of March?!?!

WOW!!  It has gone by fast (wish the cold would). It is time for our sketch challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas.  This week we have a new sketch to play with.

I decided to play with this sketch a little differently. I went and selected a paper stack first and then looked at the sketch and started playing with my colors and stamps and design options.  Here is what I created.
I started with this fun DCWV A Type of Art Stack and selected my main papers. Next I found my stamp that guided me the rest of the way.
I cut out the sweet Rosetta silhouette and placed her on top of this fun paper. Once  I had her all cut out and on my card I knew I needed more than just the sentiment place on the card. Out came the Action Wobbles to make the whimsy really start.
I love how wobbles make a card just a little extra special.  I wanted the inside to have a fun look as well so I used the wording on the same paper and added it to the inside layers of my card.
I liked the whimsy of the whole thing and hope you do as well.  Come play along with us at Die Cuttin' Divas and our fun sketch challenge this week.

- Tinkerbell and Friends Cricut Cartridge - Rosetta outline
- Holiday Cakes Cricut Cartridge - flower around sentiment
