Pet Card

Hello and welcome to Card Creating Tuesday with My Cricut Craft Room. This week for my Design Team post I created a fun pet themed card for the Sunshine and Smiles Card Project. These cards will be finding a home with the Akron Children's Hospital.
I made a simple card using a cute puppy dog off Animal Kingdom. I found my paper background and matched the dog collar to the pink background. The simple "Get Well" is from Cricut Classic Font. I even added some pencil stitching to this one for fun.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I  hope you will head over to My Cricut Craft Room so you can see the other Design Team Members projects today. Have a great week and be sure to join us this weekend for the August 100 Cart Hop! I am excited for my first one!

Door Hanger Details - Pink By Design Challenge #1

On Saturday I had a blast working on the challenge projects for Pink By Design Stamps Anniversary. The very first challenge was to create a home decor project and I was stumped, but my daughter had recently asked for a "do not disturb sign" for her door so I went looking and I found a great one and a tutorial at SugarGem.

You need 2 sheets of paper: 12" x 8 3/4" and 6" x 4 3/4" (for the larger piece a double sided paper is best as you will see the back. Once you have the to pieces you need to score and cut:

Larger: 8 3/4" side: 1" & 2" on both sides, 12" side: 1", 2" & 8" (only to the 2" mark in on each side) Cut as seen below.(SugarGem has a great map,but I did not want to copy it). After cutting I used red tape to fold and attach the back of the box.

For the top layer you need to cut a small circle into the top. I used my Creative Memories circle cutter to do that.
Once you have it all together you can add embellishments as you desire and for the PBD challenge I cut out Create-A-Critter flowers with over-sized centers and added stamps from the "All Girl" set.
I also added a bright green ribbon recycled from a cookie bouquet I recently received. Once it was on the door I think my daughter was pleased. I will be sharing a fun card tomorrow for My Cricut Craft Room and finish sharing my project details later this week. Have a great Monday.

Pink By Design Challenges Details Part 1

Yesterday was an absolute amazing experience with Pink By Design Stamps 2nd Anniversary. There were a grand total of 13 challenges to complete, each with a time limit and boy was it a creative mind melt. I had so much fun and am really pleased with my results. I wanted to share some more details about some of the projects I made yesterday over the next couple of days. First, my perfect pair layout for challenge #4 the silhouette image challenge.
I pulled out 2 carts to get me started Forever Young and Sweethearts because I knew they both had great silhouette images on them and then went looking for a photo to go on a layout. The photo  I found could not have been more perfect to match the Sweethearts image.

All I had to do was flip the image before cutting and it was just right. I used the beautiful Black Currant stack from DCWV for each detail on the layout. The perfect pair cut and background plate for it also are from the Sweethearts cartridge.
The final touch was a Pink By Design stamp from the "Inner Princess" set down by the chair leg. Even thought you did not have to use Pink By Design stamps on the challenges yesterday it was my goal to use them on every one and I did.  I will share more details and photos of some of my other projects tomorrow.

Scrapbook Friday: Music & Art Theme

Happy Friday everyone. Today is my Design Team day with My Cricut Craft Room. The designer's have all made some fun scrapbooking layouts for you today with great themes: Art, Music, Dance or Sports. I (with my daughter's design help) created this fun layout for my daughter's little 8x8 album.
This fun coloring carriage was a gift from my sister a few years back and it was well loved. My daughter wanted only pink and purple paper on top of the black background. She picked out the font from Simply Sweet and the crayons form Elmo's Party.
Of course after it was all put together my daughter said she needed some sparkles, so we added the corner gems and the Stickles crayon squiggles. Very fun indeed.
Thanks so much for stopping in today. Please head over to My Cricut Craft Room and see the fun projects the other Designer's made. Have a great weekend. I plan on geeking out with the Olympics! Tonight they light the torch and the games start. Cricut Cake is very excited. GO USA!!

See Ya Real Soon

It is always hard to say good-bye to Disney World vacations and my daughter loves to wave good-bye on the plane. In October I captured her doing just that for a fun layout in our album.
I started off with the cute cloud paper from my piles and added a black "window" around it. I used 50 States to cut out the state silhouettes and added a cute mouse ear and stars on these.  Next, came the super sweet plane off B is for Boy. I exchanged the stars on the wings for Mickey Ears and used some Glossy Accents on the windshield. Off it flew creating the pattern for my title.

The final touch was a Disney phrase favorite, cut with Don Juan font.  I guess I am in a layout making mood as this is my second this week and I have another one to share tomorrow!  Feels good to be getting these memories put together just right and I used 2 more carts on my never used list for this one!!! Have a great day!

Halloween in front of the Castle

Being at Disney World for the Not So Scary Halloween is such a wonderful experience. Everyone is dressed up in costumes and kids get to trick or treat all over the Magic Kingdom. Plus you get the fun photo in front of the castle with the cool lights and your whole party dressed up.
Belle, An 80's Rocker & Rapunzel in front of the Castle
For this quick layout I used a fun paper from DCWV Ghosts & Goblins stacks that has this great shiny Happy Halloween lettering and spider webs. I added my own green webs using the Paper Trimmings cartridge for the very first time (I have now used 4 carts on my list of never used!!)
I wanted to have some extra spiders and webs so I cut the out a few more images and snipped off the spiders for my layout. I especially like the web corner of the photo.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you are having a wonderful week.

Here is my updated list of never used carts:
50 States, Block Party, B is for Boy, Campin' Critters, Chore Chart, Christmas, Destinations, Father's Day, Greek Alphabet (CCR), Hoot 'n' Holler, Mr. Frosty (Imagine), Out of Character, Pack Your Bags, Pagoda, Paper Trimmings, Pooh & Friends, Preserves, Savory, Sesame Street Friends, Sophisticated, Summer in Paris, Superman, Thanksgiving Table Decor (CCR), Tie the Knot, When It's Cold Outside

Sigma Kappa Note card

Yesterday I got to have lunch with a very good friend and my Sigma Kappa Sorority pledge daughter. It was a long over due meet-up and very happy. I wanted to make a simple note card with our letters on it and write a message on the inside. I bought the Greek Alphabet set for Cricut Craft Room right away and have never used it and it worked perfectly for what I wanted. A little embossing and a pretty plaid paper from DCWV Summer Days stack and it was just right. I hope everyone has a good day!

Ink It Pink: Tag Challenge

Today I have a simple card to share with you. I was thinking about this week's Ink It Pink Challenge at Pink By Design which is to  use a tag on your project and I was not sure what I wanted to do. I was scanning the Silhouette Store and found this cute pocket card with tag and knew it would be great.
I used a white card base and cut everything else with the paper from The Paper Studio Basics pad. It has 10 different colors with the same patterns and while it is super super thin paper I love how it all coordinates.
The pocket folds and goes onto your card just right. When I pulled the tag out I could still see the inside folds of the pocket so for this card the tag is totally stuck in place with the little circle, flower, and brad. I also choose to use prima flower instead of a paper one.
On the tag that stuck out I added the sentiment off Breast Wishes and a simple ribbon knot. All in all a fun and bright card that I am sure I will be able to use this school year as my co workers are always helping me out.
Hope you have a wonderful week. *** Thanks to a fellow crafter I found out about the fun challenge using pockets at More Than Favors. Thanks Gloria!!

Police Car Birthday Bag!

Today we will celebrate a very wonderful 4th birthday for a family friend. Charlie just turned 4 and is very very into police cars so of course I had to buy him the loudest, noisiest one I could finds and wrap it in the perfect little bag.
I love this police car on Boys Will Be Boys and it looks so cute a a little off set from the background circle.
I love putting the birthday boy or girl's name on their bags and with this one I felt the font on Superman would be perfect...AND that checks off another cart on my list of ones I have not used!
When the bag was all put together I needed a card, but I did not have what I was looking for so I bought and cut this cute police hat from the Silhouette Store and attached a card behind it with my message. Now my gift is all complete and we can enjoy the party  with our good friends. Hope you weekend has been wonderful.
