Sing Along Down Main Street

A drive down Main Street at Walt Disney world is always a wonderful thing to experience. A drive down Main Street with a Legacy cast member super special.
We were lucky enough to get a ride from the castle to the train station with Barbara. She sang holiday tunes the whole way and had everyone in our path singing along with her. What a fun touch to this holiday memory.
I used cuts from 2 Cricut Cartridge collections and some Project Life cards to create this fun scrapbook page to add to my Holiday album.

Give Thanks: Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite days of the year. This year I am giving thanks for so many things: my new job, new friends and right now getting my crafting mojo back. I have been back in the craft room creating fun projects to share for the last 2 days (love having time off). I love this cute turkey cut so I had to play with him.
I used nothing but scraps and twine I never remember to use to make this card (the first I have made since July) and had fun playing with patterned paper I had in my scraps bin.

Have a wonderful day all.

I am adding this to a few challenges going on right now:
Always Fun Challenges #33 - Thanksgiving
Dare 2B ArtZy November Challenge - Gratitude.
Use Your Stuff #289 - Thankful

- Simply Charmed Cricut Cartridge - Turkey
- Designer's Calendar Cricut Cartridge - Give Thanks
- 5x7 dots embossing

Been Awhile...Now What?

It has been a while since I last posted on my blog and seeing as this is a place I get to express myself...
I know some of it has been a shift in jobs.  I recently got my dream job and spent the summer preparing for the new school year as a full time Drama teacher.  I get to teach drama to all 6th, 7th & 8th graders in my building and I love it everyday. The time to plan over the summer was very needed and enjoyed as I got to take some fun summer classes.  The work I put in took me away from my memory making & crafting time.
My daughter has started middle school and has had some struggles adjusting and getting settled in. Any parent with a child who has an IEP (Individualized Education Plan for those who might not know) knows this can be a concern at times.  It also has taken away some time.
The last thing was a lack of inspiration and desire tobe in my crafting space. I finished up working with Design Cuttin' Divas (who I love and say go see their weekly challenge it is a blast) and did not seem inspired to create things. I would sit at my desk and not know what to make - even with stacks and stacks of photos to work with.
I had the crafting blahs...BUT...
I am starting to make my way back into my crafting space and eager to work with the memories I have captured on film. I know many of my followers may not stop by for awhile, but I want to say thanks to anyone who does and let you know I so enjoy visiting different blogs and seeing all the wonderful love put into creating projects

As I know in the end that is the main reason most of us choose to create and share.

Donut Diamond Rings

Sometimes I get asked to do such fun things that are so simple, but bring me so much joy. Over the summer I was asked by my school's secretary to cut out over 100 diamonds.  I am so glad I had time between my summer classes to do this for her.  This is what she created with the diamonds I cut out for her.
Is this not the cutest idea for a wedding shower brunch?  The diamonds were a mix of silver and a cranberry color that the bridesmaids will be wearing at this upcoming wedding.
I asked her to share the final product with me because it was so so fun.  Thanks for stopping by. I am in my 3rd week of school and my new job couldn't be going better. I will share some of the fun things I have created soon.

Dreams Photo Album

A few weeks ago my daughter celebrated the end of another dance season. She loves competing so much and I wanted to make something special for her and her dance big sister, especially because we have made a change in dance studios so they will not be together anymore. I decided to make them matching chipboard albums.
The above is the final cover image.  It features the only die cut I used for the whole album, a welded font from my computer.
This is how all the pages started - with me covering them with paper.  All the papers are from the same paper stack, Pink Paislee, Memorandum. It was really easy to measure and cut the paper to fit the chipboard and a corner rounder was the perfect fit for the rounded edges. I mixed and matched different papers.

I also went into my stash and added washi tapes, stickers and print and cut items to complete the pages. The girls both loved their albums and their friendship will continue on no matter where they are dancing.

Sketch Guest Designer with Die Cuttin' Divas

I am so lucky this week.  I get to rejoin the wonderful team at Die Cuttin' Divas as their guest designer for the week. It is the first Tuesday (first day) of August and that means a new sketch to work and play with.
I created this birthday card for my niece who just turned 4 with this sketch. I wanted something fun and this sketch worked great for that.
I started with this colorful paper and once I had found the matching solids I went to work. I love this cute cake cut from Smiley Cards but it only had 3 candles on it so I decided to chop them off and just use the cake.
I added some sparkly to the frosting and some glossy accents to the cheeks.  My niece called to tell me she loved it - so  it is a win!!

I hope you all get a chance to join the Die Cuttin Divas in their sketch challenge this week. Make sure you head over for more inspiration and check out the great design team projects.

Too Much Time to Craft...

I just wanted to pop in and say I am missing my craft space and blog a lot right now.  I am very excited to get to work on some projects soon, but also very excited about the fact that I am changing jobs and taking classes this summer to be ready for this job come fall. The last few weeks of the teaching year and the first few weeks of summer have been hectic trying to get into a pattern for myself and the family.  I am lucky  to say I have had a few minutes to create and look forward to sharing soon and hope now that things are in a pretty good routine I will have more to share soon.

Hope your summer projects are coming along.

Anything Goes Gift Box with Die Cuttin' Divas

Who doesn't love the end of a month? Who doesn't love an Anything Goes challenge?  I know I love letting my ideas flow. This week  at  Die Cuttin' Divas it is an Anything Goes challenge.
I created a fun gift card box for a friend of my daughter.  She, like my daughter, is a dancer so my daughter wanted to include that on the gift box.
I started with a simple box cut from the Spring Holiday Cards Cricut cartridge. On this box it has built in slots to place a card so I created the card and it fit right in the slots to finish off my box.

I love making personalized gift boxes and bags and this one was a big hit at the party.  Hope you can join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week. Remember it is Anything Goes - make a project (featuring a die cut of course) and share it with us.

You are the Laces to my Sneakers

Happy Tuesday to you all. May has arrived and for the first week of May the challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas is a sketch challenge. Here is  the project  I created.
I was looking at some sentiment stamps I had on hand and loved this one so the idea started to form to use with this great sketch.
I started cutting all my layers and glued my fingers together adding the laces onto my shoes, but it all came out in the end.
I hope you all have a great week and get a chance to play along with us  at Die Cuttin' Divas and our fun sketch challenge this week.

With Sprinkles on Top

Hello to you all. I hope you are having a good day so far.  Today I wanted to share a cute card I made for a sleepover birthday.  I was told the birthday girl loves doughnuts so it was an easy choice.
I started the card our using a few of the fun washi-tapes I just got that are all food themed. They are so cute I had to have them.
Once  I had the base ready I cut my doughnut and added some special sprinkles to it. My daughter was very specific about the colors I selected, She still wasn't satisfied so she asked for a birthday hat for the doughnut and it was all set.
For the inside I decided to print and cut a cute birthday message to finish it all off.  A fun card all set and I hear the doughnuts were amazing after a night of fun and very little sleep.

Every now and than you get an idea in your head and get lucky when you can make it look how you envisioned it in your head.  That is what happened with my card for this week's challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas.  This week we are asking your to play with polka dots & chevron patterns.  Here is the card I created.
It is one of the most simple cards I  have ever done, but I LOVE it. I saw this washi tape with the chevron and it all came into my head - even the sentiment came into mind.
Once I had planned it out I cut out my polka dots and place my washi tape onto the card.
The final step was embossing the red circle and adding the sentiment. To add even more of a final touch I decided to add a circle cut out in the inside as well.
I hope you can join in the fun with us this week at Die Cuttin' Divas and our Chevron and Polka Dot challenge!! have a great week.

Saving Grace

I have seen many people talk about the Cast Members they meet at Disney and how they played a special role in making magic for their trips and we are lucky enough to have one such special Cast Member in our lives as well.
Grace was a concierge at Wilderness Lodge when we stayed their for the holidays.  She treated us like family and really bonded with our daughter during the trip.  She even helped us make sure that our daughter got to visit with Periwinkle, a Disney fairy, while we were on our trip.  The title for this page was an easy one for me.
I used some fun Mickey paper and did my journaling in some cropped Mickey Ears to finish it all off. We still keep in touch with Grace and will never forget how special she is.   Have a happy Friday and a great weekend.

Shape Card Challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas

Good day to you all. This week the Divas at Die Cuttin' Divas are creating Shape cards to share with you and asking you to join in our challenge to create your own shape card. I created this little Russian doll card for the challenge this week.
To start my card I welded the base shape of the image with a mirror version of it so I could add a score line and make my card.
Once the card was created I just needed to add all my pieces on top and she was just about ready to be sent to a good friend of mine. Of course she needed some extra touches including embossing and some sparkle.

I hope my friend liked her and I hope you get a chance to join us in our shape card challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas. Have a wonderful week.
