Let's Hear it for the Boys!!

Happy Tuesday everyone.  I hope you had a wonderful weekend with the unofficial kick off to summer!!  This week at Die Cuttin' Divas we are all about the boys!
I created a fun little gift bag for a special birthday boy who is in love with cars of all kinds.  I went to the perfect cart when creating for a birthday boy - Boys Will Be Boys. I selected the fun race car and went looking for papers
Once I had all the right ones (I have been really trying to mix up my patterns) I cut the pieces of my car and label and got everything paced together in no time. Love how the layers on this cart go together so well.
I hope you find time this week to join us as as we celebrate the special guys in our lives.

May Flowers with Fantabulous Cricut

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge with Fantabulous Cricut!

Challenge #211 May Flowers
Create a project that uses flowers

Here is the project I created for the May Flowers Challenge.
I started with a great fun cut from the Mother's Day Moments collection which is a small digital download set. I loved this bouquet of flowers and it went together well. For my base I wanted texture so I selected 3 different embossing folders to use.
I layered each of them onto my white base card and added the white sentiment block and my die cut to complete the look.

I hope you can join us at the May Flowers Challenge this week with Fantabulous Cricut

Mickey Wobble

Welcome! Welcome! It is time for a new challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas. This week we are playing with wobbles (or adding dimension if you  do not have any wobbles). I made a fun gift card box for a birthday boy!
I started with my supplies and a box from the Silhouette Store.  The box comes with Happy Birthday ready to cut into it, but I once again opted for my own topper.
I cut all the box pieces out and got the gift card in place (love that it has this inside part to place the card!
For the top of the box I added some extra color and layers before cutting this fun Mickey Mouse out on my new Cricut Explore.  It cuts characters like magic.  In the past I found it very hard for the machine to always cut out the details so well - not anymore.
He looks great sitting on top and of course - he wobbles as well.
Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you are having a wonderful day and can play along with our wobble challenge this week at Die Cuttin' Divas.

Let's Bake for a Sketch Challenge

Good morning everyone.  Hope you started your week off just right. It is the first Tuesday of May (can you believe it is May already?) and that means it is time for a sketch challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas.
Over the weekend I worked on a ton of scrapbook layouts as part of National Scrapbook Day. I have gotten very into pocket scrapbooking and this week's sketch was perfect for a 4x6 pocket. I love how this turned out for me.
I started with the All Occasions Paper Pad by Recollections - the colors in this pad are so great and the patterns so fun. I gathered the papers I wanted to use and went to work on making the card base for this 4x6 section, while decided other papers for the different pockets without photos.
Next came the mixer.  Which I cut use more patterned papers from the stack. Love this simple cut file I found searching for mixer svg files (you never know what you will find). I also cut out this cookie tag for the other ope 4x6 space on my layout. In the end I had a fun Pocket Page all ready to share.

Pattern Play with Fantabulous Cricut

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge with Fantabulous Cricut!

Challenge #209 Paper Fun
Create a project that uses Patterned Paper

I found a stack of paper with some bright colors to make this card for the challenge this week.
I knew I was making a flower themed card because I wanted to use this great sentiment stamp from our sponsor, Mark's Finest. Once I had my papers all picked out I had to find just the right flowers.
These cute flowers are from the April Showers Cricut Cartridge. I thought they would look extra sweet with a sparkly center. I find myself adding more layers to my cards lately and love the look of it so this card got 3 layers for the base, including the great sentiment.
I continued the patterns right on inside.  I love combining patterns so this week's challenge just so much fun. I hope you will join us.

National Scrapbook Day!!!

Good morning everyone. I have a feeling many of my fellow crafters out there will turn towards their scrapbooks today and create some fun layouts in honor of National Scrapbook Day.
I am taking part in this fun event with Big Picture Classes. All day they will have free mini lessons with some of the experts in the field and going for 10,000 layouts  posted to Instagram.I am going to be focused in on my Project Life Layouts and ordered about 174 photos to be ready for the day. I hope you also will get to join in the fun and have some time in your day to create.

I hope to share many fun layouts on Instagram today and soon afterward on this blog, but for now I wanted to share some of my favorite layouts of the recent past just to get me started and excited for the day. Happy to get back into the swing as I have been focusing on other projects lately.

Make it Girly - Day 3

I am back for another girly project. I wanted to make sure I shared all the projects I created for my daughter's dance recital.
This is the gift bag I made my daughter. She was in two dances and I made the cards you saw earlier this week for all the other dancers in her group, but for her I needed to combine the two dancers into one project.
I placed them on a simple blank gift bag with a fun polka dot layer behind.  I wanted to add some titles and when I went looking for the right thing I found the cute "dance recital" label on my Twinkle Toes Cricut cartridge.  Using the same label I also cut out her name for the bag.
She was super excited with her bag and happy that it once again matched her outfits from the recital. I can only hope her outfits keep being as easy to repeat.  Remember to Make it Girly with Die Cuttin' Divas and join in the fun.
