Billy Goats Gruff - A Butterfly Challenge

Hello and Happy new challenge day with Die Cuttin' Divas. This week's challenge is Butterflies!! We want to see your projects featuring these fascinating flying friends. Lucky for me and my quest to catch up in my scrapbooking, my daughter once played a butterfly in a class play, Three Billy Goats Gruff.
This is one of those pages that I am happy to say I spent a ton of time on. I had not made a page in a long time when I sat down to make this so to just enjoy the process from start to finish was so pleasing to me.
I started with 3 photos and found a sketch to work with for the page. Then it was off to find all my papers and embellishments to make it work the way I wanted it.  I spent an enjoyable morning working on the page and listening to music - a perfect calm morning.
I switched out the circle space for an extra photo and extended the flourishes on the sketch with all the added butterflies. The fun stickers I found in my stash worked just right for the page.

Come and play along with us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week and our butterfly challenge. Our sponsor for the week is...
Have a great day and as always I welcome your comments!

Welcome Home Banner

Welcome Home is exactly what my Mom and Dad needed to hear after their trip to England.
What was supposed to be a fun vacation turned into mostly a stay in a hospital.  By the time they were able to fly home they were in need of an actual vacation to put the other behind them.  Everyone is okay and on the right track to healing fully, but it was a hard time for all of us so this banner was very needed.
I used some simple banner cuts and a fun font to make the banner pieces and added some embossing to give it a little more detail.  I felt it needed something more and when my daughter said it needed red I knew just what to add.
I am super happy they are home and was happy to welcome with this banner.

Remember this week at Die Cuttin' Divas we have an embossing challenge going on so hopefully you can join in the fun with us.

Supplies:
- Birthday Bash Cricut Collection - Banner Pieces
- Plantin Schoolbook Cricut Collection - Hearts
- Carton Six Font
- Pinstripe embossing folder
- Red and White twine

Friends are the Chocolate Chips of Life

Who is ready for a new challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas? This week we are asking you to play with embossing (dry or heat). I have so many embossing folders that I thought it would be fun to play with several of them to create a card.
I went to my folders and selected ones I liked and embossed the craft brown paper. From there I started thinking about food (it might have been lunch time) and I found a sentiment stamp that inspired the rest of the card.
I decided to use these print and cut die cuts for this card because the colors worked so well with the embossed pieces.  I was almost all set, but felt the embossing needed more color behind it so I added another layer that I printed using a pattern from my Cricut Collection.
The final look was just what I wanted.  I popped the cookie dough and cookies up a little bit so they would stand out against the embossing and it was all done. I admit I also went on and embossed a bunch of other things that will be appearing in some of my other projects soon.  Hope you can join int he fun this week at Die Cuttin' Divas.

You're a Fungi! Masculine Theme with Die Cuttin' Divas

Happy Tuesday.  It is time for a new challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas.  This week we are gearing up for Father's Day and want to see your masculine themed cards (featuring a die cut of course).
I saw this on a t-shirt the other day and felt it would make the perfect Father's day card so I just had to make it.
I used print and cut magic to put my sentiment on the card and layered the washi tape and totally cool mushroom on top after adding some embossing.  I have a feeling my Dad will get a good laugh on this one.

Hope you can join us this week over at DCD.  Our sponsor for the week is.

Supplies:
- Feeling Groovy - mushroom (sliced with a smile)
- Sunglasses svg image
- Glossy Accents on top of glasses
- ARCena font for sentiment (print and cut)
- Croc Texture embossing folder from The Paper Studio

Sick? Ick! June Sketch Card with Die Cuttin' Divas

Happy summer to all!  It is the first Tuesday of the month and that means a new sketch challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas. This fun challenge blog was my design home for so long and I am happy to say that I am returning to the design team for the summer so come and play along with the sketch challenge and more this summer.  A new challenge is posted every Tuesday!
This week we have a great sketch to work with. I made this get well card for someone very special to me who really needs it right now.
I started with the sketch in my mind and found this stethoscope cut to use with a large heart behind it. I wanted some pattern so I added the backing paper and more touches of the blue as my flags.

I hope you are having great summer weather and get a chance to join us this week at DCD.

Supplies:
- Dr. Checkup Cricut collection - stethoscope
- Designer's Calendar Cricut collection - heart (stretched)
- Sketch by Georgiana from Carson's Creations
