Fall Fun with Cameo Print & Cut

I have been meaning to try using the print and cut feature on my Silhouette, but had been nervous about how it would work so I put it off. I saw this cute set of fall cards at the Silhouette Store though and so wanted to use them for a layout...so glad I did.
I found this set of print and cut 3x4 cards by Lori Whitlock and figured out how to add the registration marks to my paper (thank you tutorial..I did this wrong the first printing). All you do is click on the button at the top of the screen that looks like a set of 3 photo corners and the marks are added for you. You clearly can see the lines on your screen where you can place your designs.
It worked so well that I also played with the color fill feature on the maple leaf cut that came with my machine.
A little embossing of some picture framing paper and a touch of polka dot ribbon to match the polka dots on my mat paper for my cuts outs and I had myself a simple fall layout!!    Thanks for stopping by today. So glad I have discovered the ease of use for this fun feature!!

Fabulous Fall Recipes

I recently bought myself a Cinch and have been meaning to play with it. I have wanted to make a recipe book for my Mom and felt this would be a great time to do so and give me a chance to create with my new Cinch.
I cut my chipboard and background papers using a rectangle on the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge. All the papers I used are from My Mind's Eye Summer Song stack.
After I has all my chipboard layered with the papers I selected, I punched my holes using the Cinch so I would know where to place everything on the album pages.
Grandmas hand written recipes fit in just right.
I had a huge stack of envelopes and I decided to use these as the recipe holders. I just tucked the flaps inside so recipes could be placed inside. I cut scalloped circles for each label page, also off Art Philosophy. I cut all the label words and matching ovals using From My Kitchen.

Once all the labels were on I cut my binding wire the right size and placed the pages on. The cinching was a breeze and I have a feeling I am going to be making more and more mini albums like this.
The final touches were for the front cover. I loved the "Fabulous Fall" cut from 3 Birds on Parade so I added it to the front, plus a touch of brown ribbon. I am super pr
Thanks so much for stopping by to see my new book. I am really happy with it. Have a great weekend.
*If you are visiting from My Cricut Craft Room I am sad to report that I am no longer part of the team. One of the companies that MCCR is working with says her DT members can not be working with the new Cricut FANatics blog so I have been removed form the team.  I wish it had been different, but it was out of my hands as I was not asked about this. I hope those who visit me from MCCR will continue to stop by and see what I am working on. I wish MCCR nothing but success with her new ventures!

Pagoda Lunch Box Cards

Happy Sunday everyone. I hope everyone is enjoying a lovely weekend. This weekend I have been working on building up my stash of lunch box cards for my daughter. Since I have been trying to use my list of carts that I have never used before I decided yesterday to pull our my Pagoda cartridge and see what I could do. Here is what I created for her.
I cut everything for these cards using my Pagoda cart. First was this fun flower image. I really liked how simple it and thought it would be fun to add some colorful gems to make it even more special.
For the second card I selected this cute and fun sitting panda bear. He came together so easy and looked great on the red card bases I cut out.
Two fun cards ready to go and 1 more cart scratched off my list.  The list is getting smaller and smaller so soon I will be able to treat myself to a new cart (other than the one I bought, but already used because i bought it for a purpose).

CARTS LEFT TO USE: 50 States, Block Party, B is for Boy, Campin' Critters, Chore Chart, Christmas, Destinations, Father's Day, Greek Alphabet (CCR), Hoot 'n' Holler, Mr. Frosty (Imagine), Out of Character, Pack Your Bags, Pagoda, Paper Trimmings, Pooh & Friends, Preserves, Savory, Sesame Street Friends, Sophisticated, Summer in ParisSuperman, Thanksgiving Table Decor (CCR), Tie the Knot, When It's Cold Outside

ART card

Recently one of my former students got selected to be the student director. Each year at the high school she attends one student gets asked to pick a show, cut it down to a shorter version, cast and direct the show. I was so excited for her and very pleased to attend the show. She selected the show Art by Yasmina Reza. Here is the card I made for her.
I wanted the card to reflect the spirit of the show which is about a man who buys an all-white painting and what happens when his friend questions the purchases and their friendship. I found the cover of the script and a poster for inspiration.
I cut a simple square card as well as a white layer, which I slashed like the script cover. For the letters I used  the Pooh Font Set to cut the title. I did not realize until I was finished I had mixed the colors, but I was pleased with the results and so was Daniela. Thanks much for stopping by today.

My Imagine-ation Monday

Welcome to another day with My Cricut Craft Room. It is My Imagineation Monday once again and today the Design Team is creating with Cricut Craft Room Exclusive Carts.  I love all the fun classroom themed carts and for this project I used cuts from the CCR Classroom June/July cart.
I made this simple box (paired with a tie for Father's day on the cart) in a fun pink color. I made it as large as I could on the mat so it would be 5 inches tall once cut.
Next, I cut out the beautiful butterflies on this cart. I cut the top layer in white with some softer colors behind. I added some gold accents on these before putting them on my box, which I sealed with a tiny clip.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. This is a special week for My Cricut Craft Room as we will be going Pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. For the next few weeks projects will all have pink on them to honor this wonderful cause.

Theme Day Thursday with My Cricut Craft Room

Welcome  to Theme Day Thursday with My Cricut Craft Room. Today is International Chore day and we were asked to make something for someones lunch. For me this was an easy idea and my daughter loves receiving homemade notes in her lunch box so I try to have several on hand to use.
I made a set of three new cards for her using two carts I have never used before: Pooh & Friends and Sesame Street Friends. This first card uses this cute paper doll chain cut off Sesame Street Friends and a stamp from the Turn That Frown Upside Down stamp set by My Creative Time.
Next, came this fun globe cut also on Sesame Street Friends. I cut this in blue and used a Chalk Collection writer pen in gray to cover the base of the globe before placing it on a green card base so i got the whole look of the globe. I added the white heart and title by hand.
For my final card I selected this cute flower pot cut off Pooh and Friends. (I love finding cute cuts on carts when you did not know they were there.) I loved how simple it looked on the front so I added my sentiment  from the Life's a Garden set by Pink By Design on the inside.

So much fun creating these new cards to add to a lunch box soon. Thanks for checking in today. I hope you you go over to My Cricut Craft Room and see the other fun projects the Design team has made for today.

A Line Fit for Rapunzel

Last October when we traveled to Disney World the number one thing on our list was a visit with Rapunzel. We were told that the line at the Halloween party was always short and fast moving, plus Flynn Rider would be there, so we skipped the hour long line during the day in favor for the fun filled evening....
                                               NO SUCH LUCK!
The line that night started off moving well, but than it just stopped with no explanation. Many people got out of the line and decided not to wait, but we had to see her and we were only there one day.  We decided to make the most of it and enjoy our line experience with all the other Rapunzel's waiting.
For this double layout I used a layout I found on Pinterest as my sketch. I loved the way the original layout had all these square of paper creating the background so I cut my squares and rounded two of the corners to match the pattern. I did not have enough paper to make mine fill the whole back so I added a layer behind as well.
Once I got all the squares where I wanted them I put the blocks and photo on top. I added flowers with small brads to the sides instead of the original block design.
The final touch was the word art cut form my Sophisticated cartridge. I felt these words fit especially after we finally got to meet Rapunzel and Flynn. Thanks for stopping by. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

My Imagineation Monday: CCR Carts

Welcome to another My IMAGINEation Monday. Today the Design Team is featuring the Cricut Craft Room Exclusive Carts. Today  I wanted to share a simple note card I made to have on hand. I started with the CCR Exclusive Father's Day Cards: Argyle. I love the base of this card even if you do have to work hard to get all the little pieces out of your cut.
Once the piece were out and my card was cleaned up, I selected a bright and fun background piece from the DCWV Summer Days stack. This stack is just so much fun to use (you have seen it a lot here!)
Next, I selected another fun CCR Exclusive: Ribbon Font. I cut out a large "B" plus the shadow feature and added it to the front of my note card.  With the addition of a simple orange bow I have a cute note card at my finger tips for hen needed.
Here is the final result. I think I will make a stack of these argyle cards to have on hand for my card projects.I love the way  this looks with the fun colored background.
Thanks for visiting today. I hope you will stop at My Cricut Craft Room to see what the other designer's have created to share. Happy Labor Day to all.
